Should be there again this year, but not certain what I'll be driving. Haven't yet taken the Abarth for it's MoT so that will have to be sorted before I do anything else. Undecided

Hi Gerry,

I'm going to go to that this year. Flying out from Dublin  Airport Satur. May 3rd into Heathrow with a very good friend of mine Wink Wink Wink. I think we're going to hire a Fiat car maybe a sports car. I believe it's a great day but you would need more than one day to get around and spend some time with everything . Really looking forward to going.

regards Ger

From the Auto-Italia management:

Brooklands
Spring Italian Car Day

Saturday May 3rd

We are pleased to confirm the details for the event. The format for this year will include two runs up the Test Hill. The Mercedes Benz World track will not be in operation.

Space will be allocated to all clubs and registers who confirm their attendance on receipt of this communication. Clubs will be sent tickets for nominated organisers who help with the marshalling of cars. High-visibility vests will be issued on the day. To avoid the queuing at the entrance experienced in previous years, the public gates will now be open earlier at 08.30.

Entry for trade and organisers will be available from 07.00. Set up is available during the day on Friday May 2nd. Club organisers are asked to be on site by 08.30 to guarantee their area and to ensure that members park in the correct spaces.

To avoid congestion at the bottom of test hill during the first run, the main gate may be closed at 12.00, in which case any cars arriving at this time will be directed to the Heights car park. A secondary Italian car display area will be set up in the Heights car park and pedestrian entry to the event is possible from this location.

Cars permitted to run up Test Hill will be on a pre-selected basis only. Those cars permitted to run will be chosen by the organisers on the basis of spectator appeal. Crash helmets are not essential. All drivers and passengers must sign-on at the Auto Italia HQ in the paddock at the specified time when a safety briefing will be given and wristbands issued.

Programme
Gates open 08.30
Test Hill briefing 11.30
Test Hill run 1 12.00 to 12.30
Lunch break 12.30 to 13.30
Test Hill briefing 13.45

Event closes 17.30

Admission Prices
Adults ?10
Children ?5 (under 5 free)
Seniors ?8
Family ticket ?26 (based on 2 adults and up to 3 children)

Usually a certain red (even though some people call it orange!  Grin) Abarth gets preferential treatment and parks in the paddock in front of the Clubhouse with all the posh Supercars.  It should really say on the map "Simon's 131 Abarth"   Cheesy I suppose the rest of us will have to park next to the Puntos somewhere.... Undecided
