Just purchased a 131. It has a 2.0L engine and since it was sold in the USA it had all the smog equipment on it which after 30 some years is no longer functional. I also got a spare 1605CC TC with the purchase. Can I: Use the 1605 head on the 2.0L block without any modifications. Croft in his book makes some reference to modifying water ways but does not tell you how. Alternately can I use the 1605 cams in the 2.0l engine. Do the carriers swap over also? USA131 Title: Re: Cams and Cam carriers Post by: Tas131 on May 31, 2009, 11:17:44 AM The bore spacing on the 2 litre is different so the 1608 head has to be welded up as the coolant passage at the front is too close to the fire ring, more trouble than it's worth. The cams and cam boxes will swap over to the 2 litre head.
