I've seen that car before - A fairly distinctive paint scheme.

I think it was for sale in Italy - The advert says both Italy and Bedford but with an Italian area code for the contact number. Interesting to know if it is in the UK...? Smiley

If the car is in the UK, is solid, drives well and has no paintwork or other cosmetic issues it might sell at that price.  Smiley

Blimey, I must have fallen asleep and missed something.  Shocked Cheesy Is this value what they are really fetching these days? Huh Even the LHD cars? Smiley I'd have thought that it was steep myself, unless the car is very special Smiley

It's hard to say isn't Si? Three silver cars have come up for sale recently all at more than ?10k - I don't know if any have sold but in comparison, this car seems slightly better value. Admittedly two of the others are RHD but the number of RHD cars generally available is so small that it's difficult to draw any conclusions on value... Smiley

Don't think that there are many LHD around also... Even here if you find one you have to pay around 9000 Euro...

We all know the 131 Sport/Racing is a rare car !! and more so in RHD.
Im afraid thats the general price bracket for a 131 Racing or Sport TC of late.
6K-10K
As i always say better than paying 10K-20K for a genuine Escort mk2 RS or Mexico or 5k-8K for a custom non genuine mk 2 RS or Mexico.

In that case it looks like I have missed the boat. Undecided Not likely to be able to afford that sort of investment for the next ten years or so by which time prices would probably have leaped a bit higher Cry

Still, I have the Abarth, just that I was kind of hoping to add a Sport back to the fleet in the near future. Looks unlikely now.....

Simon / Kev

Like we all know it is what they sell for that counts and I always remember when I sold mine back in 1991 there was a great disparity between advertised and actual sale price. At least there was more choice back then.

In answer to your recent question Kev, I am not originally from Ireland but having an Ireish Mother and half the family coming from Ireland and still remaining there, we would visit each year. The Irish side of my family were and remain Italian car enthusiasts with 124 Sports, Supermirafiori, Argenta, Croma Turbo and a Thema Turbo to name just the older ones.

This combined with my own Father having a 124 Sport certainly got me enthused about Italian cars in the late 70's and especially the 131. My Father after a few problems with his Sport said he would never have any more Italian Cars and always bought German Cars (with the exception of  a Jag XJ40, and they were real rubbish). He has changed his mind regarding this and recently bought my Mother a 500 Sport. It seemed that in Ireland in the 1970's the 131 was a major hit and rightly so. I just wish as a family we had one.

Some time ago there was a similar car for sale here in the Netherlands on Marktplaats (something like Ebay). A Belgian owner wanted to have 12.000 Euro's for an orange Racing. Think this amount is about 7500 Pounds. The car was totally and original restored. Don't know if he got it sold though.
Tried to sell my Walter Rohrl for 8.000 at the same time. Not a chance... So, I guess you have to be "lucky" to sell yours. I mean, there has to be somebody to be mad enough to pay your price.
