Are the following suitable for a 1980 131 Sport.They are from Direct components. DB 728
Their dimensions are 109mm x 39mm x 17.5
They state suitable for YUGO - TEMPO ALL MODELS 91 ON
YUGO TEMPO VAN 1.1 ALL MODELS 88-89
Writen on box in hand write FIAT X 1 9 GDB 106.
Also stated equivalent to Fedro FDB734 P TRAIN PBDF 734.
Help !!!!

Don't know about Yugo but should be the same as X1/9.

Theo are you running standard brakes on your 131 & how do they fare out slowing down the extra horses?

The problem with these patent pads is you need a medium compound for the 131 and a lot or most of these patent parts are hard compound and overheat, causing brake fade. Used to get them off Fiat and always knew what you were getting but last time I asked they had stopped selling them as he said the last Fiat to use them was 1982

i use lucas/TRW pads on my fiats and they're excellent, only "problem" is they usually last 18-20.000km

No, I have Bravo discs at the front (larger than 131) with Bravo callipers and pads and have 131 front discs at the back with VW Golf callipers (!!). But they are still not good enough and I'm thinking of an upgrade. Maybe if I just change the discs for higher quality ones (I have Mintex at the moment) or go for drilled/grooved discs it might be good enough.

 They look identical to your photo bar that the two circles on the back of your picture are under the flush mine are flush jst the indent of the circle.
2 plain and 2 with the 5 inch cable with electrical bullit on the end in my set.
They were stated by the seller to fit 131 but as you read from my post no mention on pack.

Don't worry about the circles at the back; as long as the shape is the same they'll fit. The 131 Sport doesn't have brake wear sensors so just cut off the wire.

Try to go for ventilated discs. Apparently the Fiat Uno Turbo ventilated discs and callipers will bolt straight on as long as you don't have 13" wheels.

My 131R had Fiat Uno turbo brakes fitted and from all reports they worked well.  I have just replaced the calipers with 4 pot alloy calipers from a Nissan Skyline and fitted 292mm ventilated discs as the engine is a 16 valve and will put out in excess of 220BHP at the wheels so I need some serious stopping power.

With the ventilated discs you could  run into a problem if you  decide to go to 15in wheels.As they are wider than the standard disc plus the spaces.Wheel arch not that wide.

The car already had the Uno Turbo ventilated discs and spacers.  The 15 x 6inch rims fitted easily as I tried the wheels I used on the 125.  The photo's of the wheels on the 131R are 15 x 6 inch.   By removing the spacers (17mm) I hope to use 15 x 7 inch rims.  I removed the trim over the front wheel arches and rolled the edges to give more room.   Those trims are more like eyebrows than flairs and are just cosmetic anyway.
