Hi again,

I was reading the post below,

http://131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?topic=3006.0

and was wondering whether it is possible to install the Mk2 bumpers on my Mk1 131.

(If this is what Thotos suggested).

I have the original Mk1 ones and I was considering a "facelift" maybe...

If it IS possible can somebody suggest where to buy and prices?

Thanks in advance guys...

As far as I am aware it should be possible as the wings etc are the same. Just get the full bumper with all the brackets etc. Which would you like to fit, the CL chrome bumpers or the Supermirafiori plastic ones?

To be honest I really like the Supermirafiori plastic ones.

I have seen many supermirafioris stripped in this forum and the mountings seem to be identical, so I guessed it would be an easy task. (but of course I might be wrong  Wink)

Should be easy enough. I know on the series 2 it is straightforward swap from the chrome to plastic bumpers. I too prefer the look of the plastic ones.

The chrome ones look classy, however I dont like the huge gap between the rear bumper and the chassis.

The front one is ok

I see too many in grey colour. Is that the original colour, or what is left after 30+ years Huh

I think a dark grey is the original colour but I have seen some black ones too. You can paint them but I have always had problems with adhesion even when using plastic primer and so on. Huh

And that problem you don't have with chrome Wink

Problem is that the plastics were made to last max 10 years and we all wanna make that 100 years! Especially in sunny countries the plastic bumpers discolour badly.

On the other hand the chrome ones can rust badly whereas the plastic ones don't Wink

In my case the chrome ones have no rust (Greece is a sunny country Wink) but they also aint very shiny either...

10 years isnt that bad - fo a reasonable price, of course!
