Hi fiatnut, nice to have you with us!
Yes, the Group 4 car at MBG is Mick Wood's. Appears very expensive at first glance, but Tony Castle-Miller was only last week brokering a deal for a standard 131 Stradale, in a similar condition to mine by all accounts, that was 'for sale' for 42,000 Euros - and the seller turned down a 'cash offer' of 38,000, that's ?25,000 Sterling! So obviously, prices for 131 Abarths are 'on the up'!
Which is good news for us owners, bad news for potential buyers.
If you're serious about buying a 131 Abarth look at Guy Moerenhout's site (
www.abarth-gmr.be) as he usually has at least one for sale. He has a couple of Group 4 cars on his books at the moment, but expect to part with at least 40,000 Euros - even for a very rough one!
The longer you leave it to find a decent Stradale or Racing, fiatnut, the more difficult it will become to get a good one cheaply. Racings and Sports are increasing in value almost daily, and the Abarths are simply shooting through the roof at the moment. Perhaps it's just a glitch in the market, like the high prices of the late 1980s, but somehow I think that Abarth values, even 131s
wil stay high now.
Good luck with your search. If you need any assistance please don't hesitate to post a note to this site as Kev131 knows where most of the best cars in Europe reside!
