That new door would still need the skin removed to treat the bare steel thats between the skin & the door frame thats right bare steel no paint so that equals rust! Wink

Well, I have been working whole winter to produce dozens of 131 parts for sale. The reason I wrote in the other thread that "its tough business" is that in couple of months I will have the 2d door skin pressings ready. Its not an easy project to press the doors as they are done at factories. But, hopefully before summer I have them done and for sale. The pieces will be drawn to CAD, then lasercut to have all correct holes and openings, then pressed to shape.

Here you can see my first bodypanel project, I drilled it away from -75 2d. Now Im drawing it to CAD. I will draw 5mm holes to places its spotwelded in factory, so you can "spotweld" it with MIG/MAG welder. No seam welding needed so it look original. I can also cut them without "spotwelding" holes if you wish. All mounting holes, screws, flanges or what ever can be made. I hope I will have first prototype done at next week, I can put pics here.  Price would be around 20-25?/each and delivery to UK in around 20? up to 2kg.

What you think? Could somebody need 2d steel pieces  Smiley

Hello,

It is the only things that make me worry about my gr.4 replica project. Once upon a time I bid for 2 light blue colour doors for my project (hoping they are better condition that I have) but couldn 't bought them (idiot ebay settings  Angry .)

Anyway if it will be a reasonable price range (I don 't mean bargain just reasonable) I think that most of the 2 door 131 owners will going to buy even for spare.

I hope you can manage to manufacture them in oem quality and right price range 131rally.

cheers from sunny Cyprus.

Ali

I think it could be aprox 100?/each. What you think, is it a fair price? The tooling cost is thousands/door...
