For any members on here... how could you better spend your Saturday than looking at Fiat 131s!!?  Smiley

Yesterday, Simon and I saw five. While two of them were his, two were new to both us and one was an old friend re-discovered after many years apart.  Smiley

This is the first and possibly the most intriguing.

An ex Malta car and therefore RHD. A series 3 car with some of that bling that the Maltese like. The key modification though is that this is a diesel powered 131. And not a Fiat diesel engine either...rather a Toyota turbo diesel which according to the owner is quite powerful. A thick strut brace helps with the added weight and the car looked very well depsite the rain. I believe that it has been recently sold but may surface again soon. Could be quite a good 3MA car for those long motorway runs... Smiley

Looks a very tidy s3 Super.

If you didn't fancy the Toyota Diesel. What are the realistic petrol options.

I assume Fiat / Lancia Twin Cam 2.0L are hard to come by.

I think a 2 litre twin cam would be a lot easier to come by than a RHD car in this condition... Smiley

Here is the 2nd of the five 131s. A car known to most regular forum viewers and one that I christened Simon's garden ornament. It's a perfect shade to blend in with its surroundings... Smiley Amazingly it still starts...! Shocked

Considering it is left outside in all weathers it looks in remarkable shape.

The funny thing about 131's in malta that they all have new diesel engines. many years ago i spend my holidays on the island and i was surprised that i found so many 131's and 132's there. However, when one was passing me by, i never heard them coming. the specific sound of the engines and exhaust, that i knew so well, never seemed to be there. later on a local told me that the petrol engines all were replaced by new diesels... diesel fuel was so much less expensive then petrol. that's why this silver super has a toyota diesel engine...

Although the bumpers aren't to my taste the silver car looks like a nice tidy car. Interesting conversion. I wonder what the fuel economy figures are like?

Just to close out this topic and the remaining 131s... here are two of the five in one shot (both now familiar to readers on this forum).

...and here is the fifth...
