Ok Guys, after a few weeks of 'thinking about it' I'm now in a position to start talking about a leisurely 131 drive through the Hampshire - Surrey Borders and surrounds on a Sunday in November.

Before I stick my neck out with a date perhaps those of you who are interested could please let me know which weekends in Nov you are available so that I can arrange it for the greatest numbers. Probably be run on a Sunday too.

There'll be no route cards, just a simple 'follow the leader' style drive - unless of course there is a very large up-take. It will start and finish in or around Farnborugh, NE Hants, and is open to all in a 131.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Simon

Great Si,

I'm away on the 9th, so the 16th or preferably the 23rd would be fine for me, cheers.

Count me in!  Grin The NEC classic car show is on the 16th (as well as 15th and 14th - http://www.necclassicmotorshow.com/) so might be worth avoiding the 16th. I should be OK for any Sunday in November including the 16th though.

Looks like the 23rd will be favourable for most then  Grin, so I'll plan around that date at the moment.

I'll post more details as and when I sort something out closer to the time.

Kev, I'll post some pics of the building works on another thread, which I hope will go some way to explaining why my concentration has been elsewhere of late. It's still not over though!

Cheers for now guys. Wink

Guys, can you please let me know how you'd all be fixed if the date for this event was confirmed as being the 30th Nov rather than the previously published date of 23rd? Unfortunately our 'Star' attendee is now unable to make the earlier date, and as it would be great to have him along too, I thought I'd run it past you all first before deciding either way.

So, please let me know if you can make the 30th.

Andy C, if you, Nita and the kids are 'struggling', you're all welcome to come to ours on the Saturday and spend the night (perhaps with a few drinks and meal out at the local curry house for the adults! Wink?) - let me know. It would be great to have you up Wink Cool Grin

Andy, you and Nita (and any other forum member for that matter!) are always welcome up to us for a curry and a beer or two (no driviong though!), so of course the invite will remain open.

Thanks for your responses about the date change Guys. Looks like the 30th November it is then Cool

I'll post more details closer to the event. Cheers. Smiley

Update

Unfortunately heavy rain is forecast in my neck of the woods for Sunday 30th Roll Eyes. I'm sure all potential attendees will agree that there is little point in driving our 'Babies' through muddy, flooded country roads to see (or not see!) misty fields.

If the forecast doesn't change I propose to postpone the event until the weather gets drier (possibly the Spring Cool). I'm happy to see you all in your modern cars if you'd like to still come over for lunch - but I don't really want our 131s getting ruined in this way just for the sake of it Undecided

Let me know what you think people. Kiss

I shall post updates as and when, so watch this space Grin

Will those of you who had expressed an interest in attending this event please contact me via these pages so that I am able to ascertain whether you will be attending in the rain (or not) in your 131 (or not) Grin

If I don't hear from any of you I shall postpone it anyway. Cry

Thanks

Simon
