I'm thinking I will try and get over to this event  (I'm over in Yorkshire from NZ for a few months) - it looks like I can get very cheap flights leeds-dublin but not to cork. I could get a rental car but I'm thinking it's not going to hurt to ask if anyone would be going to this from dublin and possibly have a spare seat in their 131? Roll Eyes

Hi Kev I know a really nice restraunt on the Slea Head run
which has a very large car park and a great view of the Atlantic
I will try to contact them and check if they will be open on that
weekend as it is only 10 / 15 min into the drive after Dingle town
keep up the good work    Sean

Nice 1 Sean - Let us know how you get on. We can ring them on Friday night if they need to know numbers beforehand and it would be even nicer if they could reserve a parking spot for all the Fiats - The Toyotas can park anywhere!!  Wink

We might not be so lucky the following day on the Beara peninsula - It was quite diffiuclt to get a suitable restaurant in 2007 in Castletown. (that was a Monday).

Testament - I'm not aware of any confirmed 131 owning attendees from Dublin attending yet so it might be a false hope to wait for an offer of a lift, unfortunately (although I could be wrong). In any event, I suspect that most cars will be 2 up and travelling in the back seat for extended periods in a 131, especially a 2 door, might not be the best idea on western Irish roads.  Roll Eyes

You are more than welcome to come along though - Don't forget to book the hotel.  Smiley

Update:

There has been a rush of bookings in the last week and there are now 18 rooms booked. That leaves 2 available from the original reservation. To this, should be added the attendees who live locally and therefore have no need for hotel accomadation.

For people in that state and who would like to eat with the group, please let me know & I'll get a rate agreed with the hotel.

I've contacted the editor of the Irish Vintage Scene magazine and they have asked a local reporter to attend either on Fri or Sat to cover the event.

Thanks for arranging Sat lunch Sean - Do you have the name of the establishment and telephone number please? They might do us a group deal.  Wink

Looks like we will have a similar sized event to '07 & '08 at least, if not bigger!!  Smiley

Hi Mr O Beirn  Wink

The usual crew can't make it unfortunately... but Mark tells me that there could be one or two 131s from Wales - The new owner of Simon's silver Racing and pal.  Smiley

I hope they makes it because I'm keen to see a LHD conversion!  Wink
