How about having them made to fit.  The one on the right is Big Toads old front, the left is its new rear.

Hi and thanks for your suggestions Roger,
but i was thinking more like if it was any of these models that would fit just  with for example top end modifications and the springs and rest would be close enough to a 131 in weight and lower part of the coilover!
I think that perhaps VW Golf 2 and 3 are similar in the front suspension? It looks like it...

If i was to get them made specially for a 131 at a firm it would cost me a fortune, i'm more in for a budget choice to street car and perhaps a day on the track,
They sell these sets for 265GBP or 298Euro with shipping

For Escorts you can get a 'DIY' weld on kit. Perhaps one of these could be modified to fit. The benefits are it is cheap and you get a good choice of spring lengths and rates.

Hi Dave!
That was my idea, but do you mean that there are some Escorts that are similar to 131?
By the way, i know you are having  a clear out but aren't you interested in my parts in sale/wanted , you have a panorama?

I don't know the detail of the sizes but escort and 131 front suspension are similar in many ways. I guess you would have to take some measurements of strut dianeters and so on or take a chance on a kit and do some modifications.

With regards to the Panorama parts, I do have a Panorama but I'm not buying parts at the moment. Unless a set of series 2 Argenta wheel trims come up for sale Wink

Budget stuff,

We drilled a hole in the side of some front, pured the oil out, welded a nut on the side, then refiled the strut with thicker oil and plugged the hole. The refile oil is engine oil, I checked with a friend high up at Castrol, the oil type is smiler to the strut oil, try 20w50 it will be thicker, then you can add the spring conversion and uprate the spring rate for the track.   Make the hole at least M8, M10 would be better to get the oil back in.  measure whats comes out.

Job Done.   Give it some camber,  1 Deg Neg, shouldn't ware the tires to much, and lower the front so its nose down a little, not to much or you'll run out of bump travel.  Toe out for the track, try 10 minutes to start with.

Thanks for your help with the suspension Roger!
 that's a good budget suspension!

But i wanted it adjustable in height as well, i had a look at one place, just the parts for building the coil overs without the coil springs  was more expensive for the front suspension than the hole kits for these other models!

That's why i was trying to find out witch  of these models to be most similar to the 131 suspension, and with the least of work to fit my car!

Dave!!
Believe me i tried to find them but it seemed impossible even here, i found some that had them but no one wanted to sell!!
I still keep one eye open if they pop up...
