Title: Irish Fiat Owners - Limerick Show
Post by: kev131 on May 05, 2008, 11:03:37 AM
Another event which is getting bigger each year is the Limerick show on 1st June.

Last year we had 4 Fiats there, 131 Sport, 124 Sport AC, Fiat 124 Spider and a Fiat 500. Oh yes and Pat H brought along his new Stratos.

I'll be there in something new...hopefully!!? ;)

A bit of advice about some of these shows.
Never let your loved classic unattended.
I was at my local show last year to look at the classic cars and tractors and as i was brousing through the cars,i came across a woman with her 2or3 year son standing on the bonnet of a beautiful MK1 Ford Escort. The child had the bonnet scratched from the toy which he had in his hand.
I dont blame the child only his stupid adult mother.
If that was my car, i would have probably have murdered that woman.

No I would not be happy if that happened...but I'd be even less happy if I could never take my car to a show ever again because of that worry.

Thanks for the advice.

Limerick show is not an Agri show by the way - It's a car enthusiasts' show!? ;) Not a combine harverster in sight!!  ;D

The Limerick show took place yesterday and this year it was a struggle to get in as it had grown since last year.

From a Fiat perspective there was a 131, 124 Spider, 128 Sport, 500 and 2 X1-9s - Not bad but we were parked all over the place.

No pics I'm afraid as my camera is out of action but I did get nice surprise. I met a chap at the new years day run who used to have a Sport years ago and thought that he had a Fiat 131 Racing towel somewhere at home in the attic. A few phone calls later and we had to give it up as lost.

Then minutes after arriving he had sought me out (not difficult with an orange car!) and handed it over! Now I just need to get it dyed and sort out a means of restraining both towels in such a way that they dont come loose all the time!

Thanks a million Brian!  ;)
