In that time it's had 6 new handles and 5 new heads!"? ;D ;D ;D ;) Title: Re: 131 Diesel for sale Post by: djape1977 on August 16, 2008, 01:37:20 PM what's so strange about it? my 132 2.5d had 470.000km when head cracked because of faulty water pump (overheating). i changed the head and rebuilt the engine (new cilinder sleeves, piston rings..etc.) it's still running today. even before overhaul oil consumption was under 0.5l/1000km, which is well below factory recomended maximum (1l/1000km). I never saw clouds of black smoke in my rear wiew mirror, unlike other diesels i have driven (common problem with wv, peugeot, ford)
believe me, i wasn't gentle with it, neither was the previous owner (it was a company car). as far as my expirience with fiat's 2.5diesel goes, it's an excelent angine except for oil leaks that appear from time to time.
