Bought these on ebay 3 weeks ago rare revolutions in 98x4 pcd 6x13", spent last 2 weeks cleaning them & polishing the outer rim lip, got the sleeve bolts & conversion studs from Gayle at Select Auto Products 0246465845 highly recommended great service, also got a new set of the red fiat laurel centers on ebay last week to complement the wheels, just waiting on the bro in law to etch prime & paint the wheels except the outer lip shiny black.

Thanks Gerry, i love these wheels had a set on my old sport FIB 1588 & have a wide set on the Rusty Lady, my sister in law says i am stuck in the 1970s good place to be stuck in i say ha ha ha

what did you use to polish outher lip of those rims? could you describe the procedure in detail?

Ok 1st paint stripper to try to remove the stubborn paint allover the wheels
2nd power wash the nitrimors off
3rd discover that the wheels have been shot blasted in the past & say F**ck
4th using a wire wheel take off all the paint thats still on the wheels
5th start rubbing the lip with 80 grit sandpaper then 120 then 240 then 320 by hand this takes days just do it bit by bit
6th i have access to a high speed stainless steel hand buffer from work & using a polishing mop & the white block (not the blue its for stainless only) polish on the mop buff the wheel lip it will go black & when it gets hot rub the polish block on it so it melts them buff until it shines then use a finishing mop, the wheels will still be black so using standard thinners & some rags clean off the excess polish
when the wheels are painted i will polish the lip again by hand using autosol metal polish
i wouldnt recommend powder coating as this process will weaken the wheels & as powder coating will eventually return to powder it will fade badly, so use 2 pack paint for a good shiny wheel.
i hope this helps, be patient the proccess took me over 25 hours & 2 sore hands lol.

just wantd to know if there was any less labor intensive way to do it. when y polished some head covers i worked up to 800 sandpaper. didn't use the polishing paste aftherwards. how do you plan on keeping the shine? clearcoating or what?

No clear coating the water will get under it eventually, just a weekly or so quick rub of autosol, having the buffer ment i didnt have to use any finer grades of paper.
