Title: New Radiators
Post by: mick131 on September 24, 2008, 04:52:46 PM
Hi fella's,

I took the radiator of my Marea today and took it to a local company that refurbs/supplies new ones.

Also took the 131's radiator as well, on the off chance that they could supply one. Left my number with them and got a call this afternoon saying that they could supply me with a re-cored unit ( and I think painted as well ) for approx ?128 inc VAT.

They said that the unit I got " would be as new ". Does that seem a lot to pay ?.

Lsat one I got re-cored was about ?100 I think, but that was some time ago. Worth ringing around though to see what other places charge.

sure i can get you one, but why don't you check the price in eire first? can't be that expensive. about post fees, well i can ask but it can't be cheap, old type (copper) must be something like 5-6kg. new type made of plastic and aluminium is less than 2kg. there's some small diference in mounting brackets, 15min job to make it fit. i bought one couple of days ago, here's a pic, and will take a photo when old and new are sie by side so you can see what i'm talking about
