Title: rare find Post by: gerafiori on November 21, 2008, 08:49:05 PM not every day you come home with one of these
a big thanks to liam ;) ;) Title: Re: rare find Post by: mirafioriman on November 21, 2008, 09:04:05 PM Are you restoring a sport to standard then? These panels are rare, but not as sought after as they once were now you can buy fibreglass versions. ;D
Title: Re: rare find Post by: gerafiori on November 21, 2008, 09:10:24 PM hi dave,
i am afraid this will be getting a nip and tuck, i will be adding a stradale arch extension to it, the big job will be taking off the roof fitted with the webasto and fitting a roof without any sunroof in it, gerry Title: Re: rare find Post by: mirafioriman on November 21, 2008, 09:44:06 PM I have seen a roof fitted to a 131 so it can be done. I would like to do it to a car that I am restoring to cure the dreaded roof rot once and for all. I know Yagmur has roof skins available, but lack of funds and the thought of the shipping costs from Turkey have so far put me off!
Title: Re: rare find Post by: markwilliams131 on November 21, 2008, 10:15:30 PM i have the same problem dave i also need a roof skin infact 2 roof skins and floor pans
infact you could build a new 131 2 door or 4 door from the parts yagmar has small parts are no problem can be posted but roof skin or floors are diferent story far 2 expensive 2 post their must be a way around this i no some lads have been looking into this but no joy yet Title: Re: rare find Post by: mirafioriman on November 21, 2008, 10:29:18 PM An aquaintance of mine was telling me that a company he used to work for used to get cars shipped for about ?800 in a container (two cars). Perhaps we need to get together on this, if we could get a container shipped for say ?1000 if we split it between ten of us it would only be ?100 each, only ?50 if there were 20 of us. What we really need is someone who has the money to buy a massive amount of Yagmurs stock, get it shipped to the UK or Ireland and set up a business selling 131 panels and parts to Europe!
You could take a driving holiday to Turkey in a large van, but looking at a map it is a long drive! Another thought. Someone I know is the transport manager for Eddie Stobbart, I often see him on Saturdays, if I see him tomorrow I must ask him if Stobbarts drive to Turkey. Title: Re: rare find Post by: markwilliams131 on November 21, 2008, 10:40:41 PM container is the way 2 go dave how many guys out their are restoring sports or building
abarth reps that need new floors sils etc and here we have bran new parts so if ya want them get on bord ;) im up for it brensport gerry john birmingham thats 5 inc yourself dave Title: Re: rare find Post by: eugene on November 21, 2008, 11:18:34 PM K10 went to Mongolia and back in a Lada Niva via Turkey from Cork,So there's no excuse to go.
I know of a courier who goes once a week from Eire to Moldova&Ukraine and when i was in Ukraine, they do a lot of trade with Turkey,so there are many possibilites. Will do a bit of checking over the weekend with my contacts ;).Eugene ;D Title: Re: rare find Post by: gerafiori on November 22, 2008, 02:14:19 PM we got a quote of 900euro to ship a large crate
but i think export certificate or custom clearance in turkey is a problem, maybe yagmur can research this for us i know i would rather put on a new roof instead of a secondhand one gerry Title: Re: rare find Post by: eugene on November 22, 2008, 02:24:34 PM Gerry, there's a person in Limerick who supplies me with welding supplies, who imports from Turkey&China to Eire.I know it's buy the container load he purchases. He is due to call to me in 2 weeks and i will ask him whats the procedure regarding Turkey. :).Eugene
Title: Re: rare find Post by: gerafiori on November 22, 2008, 02:32:12 PM that might give us a bit more info ok, customs and associated red tape in turkey must be the same as dick turpin custom service of ireland
Title: Re: rare find Post by: sid131 on November 22, 2008, 06:36:36 PM well said Gerry stand & deliver the revenue always has one of their hands in your pocket all the time, i say cut their hands off.
Title: Re: rare find Post by: f1lmm on November 23, 2008, 09:44:23 AM the same here, need floorpans and a couple other little parts, but yagmur quoted me $750 to deliver the floorpans :o,,so c'mon lads lets get a bunch parts sorted,in a container,,OR what ABOUT a transport company to go and get them, one that goes to turkey every week or so from the uk
Title: Re: rare find Post by: Yagmur on November 23, 2008, 10:01:02 AM Hello My friends,
If you all come together and make a big list of parts,I can send them by exporting. There are Turkish trucks once a week to UK and also to Ireland. They can make delivery to your adress in 7-8 days and price of it is very very cheap.Other wise for big dimension parts the courier companies ask very expensive-unbelieveable prices. I always send a few small dimension parts by post office with competitive prices but impossible to send big dimension parts by post office, not legal. best wishes to you all Yagmur Title: Re: rare find Post by: sid131 on November 23, 2008, 10:03:54 AM Well boys i am in also i will buy stuff as well.
Title: Re: rare find Post by: theredx19 on November 23, 2008, 10:57:41 AM Should a seperate topic be started here where people can post exactly what they are looking for and there email and location, then submit this to yagmur and organise one big shipment otherwise this could all end up as a discussion only... ;) ;)
Title: Re: rare find Post by: sid131 on November 23, 2008, 11:31:17 AM everyone will probably have to pay Yagmur seperately for their parts & then pay whoever for the shipping, i paid him by western union only cost a few extra euro, but the more you send the more it costs, so waiting on stuff to come by post but i want large parts also that cant be posted or taken home on the plane when on holiday in Turkey, will be going there again next year.
