Hi all.

At the recent classic car show at Durrow where I was discussing my stripped hub thread with some fellow Fiat fans, the inevitable comment " I know where there is a scrapped 131" came up. This turned out to be genuine and I sourced the contact number and location for a future visit.

This was duly undertaken last night along with another 131 fanatic and we went along to meet the owner. It turned out to be quite a large scrapyard and after finding the initial car (A Supermirafiori 2000) which turned out to be too far gone to take away we decided to have a look around.

Most of the cars were from the 60s and 70s. R12s, Morris Minors, Mk 1 Escorts, Cambridge, etc. The predominant make was Fiat which was understandable as there had been a very successful dealership about 4 miles away (since closed).

We wandred around in the evening light becoming separated as different finds interested us. My colleague was making quicker progress around the field and for the next 30 minutes all I heard was "here's another one Kev", or "I've found a Panorama", or "Is this a Super"?

All in all we found 8 131s amongst a host of 127s, 2 x 132s, 4 x regatas, 3 x Ritmos, etc. Here are the 131 photos. As can be seen most of the cars have lain here for many many years and are returning to nature big time.? :o

Are there any salvagable parts? Certainly there is some glass to be recovered and once we return with gardening equipment? ::) as well as tools, we will have a better idea of what is there.

Kev, after 3MA I'll be over again!! ;D ;D There are at least 2 series 1 131s amongst this lot with lots of salvagable parts, although I think the lime green 1300 might need to be 'jigged'! :o

The Panorama in the blackberry bush took me a second or two to find!!? :o :o

As you say, some of them are a little past it - even for me! ;D but as well as glass you should consider all of the 'chrome' door trim from the Supers, external door handles, plastic bumper covers from the 2000TC Super, etc., etc.,

Let me have a week in there with my tools! ;) ;D and an articulated lorry to take all the bits home in! ;D ;D

They have got to be some of the most rotten Fiat 131's I have seen in a long time! If there are any velour seat or door trims in usable condition I am interested. It looks like the Panorama is not a super model though. Rear light wiring connectors for a Mk2 model also needed if they are not rotten! It is a bit far for me to go even for 131 parts though. May be interested in purchasing some parts if they come up for sale.

Somewhere near Tip town Enda (I can't remember the village name at the moment) but I believe that a lot of the cars have been crushed by now - Environmental pressures. Certainly the blue super is crushed - I dont know about the rest.  :)

Gerry K (RIP) paid a visit and recovered some glass a few years ago.

everyone seems to be missing the best part worth saving on these cars, what you reckon Brensports?

any  info on the 132's   colour wise and  parts  wise ,,i'd  be  interested

Hi Ivor - I can only remember a white one with a Limerick reg YTI 839 - It stuck in my mind as my Dad's first 132 was also white with the same black number plate with chrome numerals and registered WTI 944. Here are the pics...

Very sad pictures there... :'( All these cars abondoned to their dreadfull fate...

Good work Kevin. Hopefully some viable spares will be harvested from those skeletal remains.
