Title: 1983 Lancia Trevi - SOLD
Post by: TreviDash on April 12, 2009, 04:54:49 PM
1983 Lancia Trevi 2000 auto

45,000 miles.? ?MOT July.

One of just 6 UK Trevi survivors according to DVLA figures.? On the button and ready to go.

Carburettor FIAT Twin Cam engine good, gearbox changes as it should.

Sunroof, electric windows all round, Power Steering, alloy wheels, rear seatbelts.

Check panel working, dashboard in great condition.? Seats very good with a small repair but nothing bad: all bolsters good original and unworn.

Service history Bills back to 1998, MOTs going back to 1993.? Printed entire ownership history.

Bodywork good and presentable, some bottom door bubbling and the odd scuff and touch-up, but not that bad.? Rear turrets good and unwelded.? Will need nearside sill end attention before long.

Reluctant sale due to job redundancy.? Just placed onto a SORN.

Sold this morning...

Thanks Theo, for a swift, easy sale  8)

Just to clear it up yes, I have two other Beta saloons: one restored and one sadly a breaker.

When a previous owner fitted the beige in 2007, I bought the blue cloth set off him as they were superb condition for a set of those - normally they are faded, perished and torn.  So the car now has its original set back, as per factory build.

The seats were moved over to the blue saloon, as the colours matched better, and the correct seats in the correct colour are now back in the car.  However, the beige seats are lumpy and the colour is variable, so I might regret the swapover....

Oh well, gone now, money into the bank.  It did go cheaply.

Yes I did  :D As you know, my Gamma is in bits so I've been having serious Lancia withdrawal symptoms so the Trevi should fill the gap in my motoring.  ;)

That's great Theo, another car to add your ever expanding (at least it seems that way) fleet ;D. Looks like a good one at a very good price too, well done. What did the current ;D ;) "Mrs Theo" have to say about it, or haven't you told her yet ??? A nice 'surprise' for her when she returns home from shopping perhaps? :D

Seriously, well done mate. I'm jealous. I just love the Bellini designed dash! As you know I love Italian saloons, and have always secretly hankered after a Trevi or Prisma. 8)

un tre uno, sorry to hear of your redundancy. It's very sad that we are all being hit so hard by the current recession, caused by the greed and lack of regulation of 'the few'. At least you can be safe in the knowledge that your beloved Trevi has gone to a gentleman and true enthusiast. I very much look forward to seeing it 'in the metal' over the summer. :)

Happy to report the Trevi made the 30-odd mile home without any problems and it's now tucked away in its garage. I was so tempted to start tinkering but must do a few jobs on the 131 in preparation for 3ma09 first. Below some photos (taken with my phone so excuse the poor quality) when I got back this morning.

Good news.  I knew it would get you home.  Even for a  26-year Fiat-parts-bin Lancia this had proved t obe more reliable than my restored example, which I daren't take out much....

My job has been shaky for months, but three weeks ago the missus came home in a state as she'd been let go.  And she is the money-earner.  And the mortage is massive.  Hence the panic sale :'(

One day, when things get better, I'll be looking out for it again ;)  I've had my eye on that car for three years as I knew it was a good one, not just a tatty rotbox of a survivor.

Considering the scary prices being asked for 131s these days, this was a little bargain, IMHO !

All the best.
Jason

Glad to see it went to a good home. I looked at this car and considered trying to buy it when it came up for sale previously but I'm afraid funds and space are tight!

One day, but one day, I'll get hold of a Panorama and build myself a Mirafiori Sportwagon        ;D

But I certainly won't be searching these shores for the base, and the hyper-inflated Irish market won't even get near my radar...

Hello Albert. So that's three cars we have the same/similar! Trevis seem very popular in Holland if the parts for sale on ebay is anything to go by. In fact the boot lid of "my" Trevi came from Holland. Used the Trevi to get to work today  ;D Mind you I was up until 1:30 this morning trying to get the lights to work!  ::)  I had to take the fuse box off the car and re-solder a pin inside it.

Isn't the body shape very similar to the Fiat Argenta ::).Maybe it's because both models come from the same country.Eugene

I've found out a pair of wing splash guards.

Not had chance to get to the other garage and look at headlight light sets as yet.

You got in there at the right time!  No calls at all first week apart from you - and now plenty this week from fellas in Ireland...

The "wacky" dashboard was only used in the Series 3 Beta Berlina and the Trevi.

Another rarity in that photo - Autobianchi A111    :)

Sister car to 128, with different front/rear panels.

Theo,

Actually the Trevi is also not popular in Holland. There is a 1600 for sale already for ages and that car was actually saved from the scrapyard. I spoke recently to a guy who offered parts for a VX asking if he had the whole car. The reply was he brought it to the scrapyard already 6 years ago only saving some parts. Even specialists don't know of more survivors. There should be some cars around but not that much. My plan is to repair an accident damaged but (really) completely rustfree late VX with 106000km to concours condition. Except that car I have an earlier model with rust and a damaged left front door which was stored for 15 years. It's a 2000ie with 64000km. 1 owner and the interior covered in seat covers(expesive original Lancia items) since new. The strange shaped blue seats under are NEW! The last fact makes it difficult for me to scrap this car although they are worth a penny. I love them. Anybody knew Pininfarina was responsible for the great Trevi shape based on the standard Beta and that the kitchen and interior designer Bellini did that great dashboard. I like Trevi's, strange with the square and round shapes mixed. Another thing to know, Trevi is officially not named after that nice fountain in Rome(although I like that option) but it's standing for tre volumi ( just a sedan actually).
Goodluck with the car, I'd like to drive it once ;D ;D

Thanks for that Jason.
I've replied to your reply? ?;)
Didn't manage to get to the MOT last Saturday as spent too long repairing the nearside sill. The car now has half a Fiat 500 sill!  ;D
Trying again for the MOT this coming Saturday so everyone please wish me luck.

Crikey has MOT time come around already!

All the best with that.  Shouldn't need anything else should it?.  Fingers crossed the Fuse Box behaves and lights and wipers work, eh.

Any damper leaks?  Remember I have those Koni sets on eBay, ending tomorrow.  Would transform the Trevi and be a mighty fine MOT birthday present ;D

Seeing that shot above has given me a lift  8) - at least the car isn't being run to MOT time and scrappaged, which was my worry, selling it out on the open market, in a rush (Helen still hasn't found a job...).

I am surprised that you were worried about that Jason! I obviously gave you the wrong impression about me if  that's what you thought I'd be doing  ;D The MOT wasn't long enough for that anyway!  ;D Seriously though, that was never my intention and I've spent a lot of time sorting out things for the MOT. Dampers seem a bit tired but OK. Replacement is a good idea though  ;)

Best of luck with the MoT Theo. ;)  Personally I hate that time for any of my cars. I even get Wendy to take my newer one's to the Test Station as I can't stand the tension :-\

At least it looks as though Mark was able to fit you in  8) How's he getting on with your Gamma?

Thanks Simon, keep fingers crossed on Saturday morning  ;)
Mark not only does excellent work but he can also be quick when he wants to (and you are standing on top of him watching  ;D ). But what was meant to be a quick job of a tiny little spot in the floor of the Trevi ended up being a repair to the floor, inner sill and half new outer sill.   :-[

The Gamma is coming along very slowly. Mark said "it'll be ready by the end of July" but he didn't mention which year!  ;D I hope it will be finished in time for the Gamma Consortium weekend in September.
