Title: Abarth getting ready for 3MA09 Post by: simon131 on April 19, 2009, 10:46:57 AM It's a beautiful sunny day here in the South of England (for the moment at least ::) ) so I've got the Abarth out for a pre-run run (if you know what I mean ;)). I'm off to IRS near Basildon, Essex with it tomorrow for it's MoT and tinkering before I take it on it's trip back to the country of it's birth!
Might take a few pics if the mood takes me. :) Almost definitely have to sell the Racing now :'(, so watch this space for the ad and further details. :-\ Title: Re: Abarth getting ready for 3MA09 Post by: mirafioriman on April 19, 2009, 01:46:08 PM It is lovely up here too, but I'm working on a few things in the house ::) and of course it is Man U vs Everton soon......

I must get round to organising that run I keep talking about ::) Title: Re: Abarth getting ready for 3MA09 Post by: simon131 on April 19, 2009, 02:45:25 PM Two more shots thru the front screen as I went this morning. Hardly another vehicle on the road, with the exception of loads of weekend cyclists riding three abreast on a narrow country lane. ::)
Title: Re: Abarth getting ready for 3MA09 Post by: simon131 on April 20, 2009, 01:18:20 PM Abarth now safely (?) at Mark's in Basildon this morning. Now for the expensive bit.....
Title: Re: Abarth getting ready for 3MA09 Post by: simon131 on April 21, 2009, 04:47:38 PM It's been down for it's MoT this morning but will have to stay at IRS until the middle of next week to have the relatively minor remedial works carried out to get it thru. :) Shouldn't cost too much to put right but means changing the steering wheel in order to get the horn to work ::)
Title: Re: Abarth getting ready for 3MA09 Post by: simon131 on April 27, 2009, 07:18:18 AM Back to Mark's at IRS Basildon to collect the Abarth this morning ;D. Another 200 mile trip including a complete circuit round the M25? ::) not something to be recommended on a wet Monday morning :-\. Still, there's a 131 size space in my garage that needs filing with red Abarth, so the trip will be worthwhile if only for acheiving that today ;D ;D

Title: Re: Abarth getting ready for 3MA09 Post by: simon131 on April 27, 2009, 07:56:32 AM Yes...eventually. Nothing major to report this time, but will be laid up over the coming winter for a wings off wheel arch repair.
Title: Re: Abarth getting ready for 3MA09 Post by: simon131 on April 27, 2009, 01:14:38 PM After a totally horrendous journey on the motorway in the wet and wind finally got the Abarth back in my garage at about 1.15pm today. It didn't miss a beat all the way home, but when I lifted the bonnet to disconnect the battery I noticed that rain water had forced it's way under the leading edge of the bonnet and across the top of the battery :o Not ideal ::) The rain was truly heavy but I've seen it like this in central France before so I'll have to make a deflector for the journey to Turin in May.
