Title: My first trip to Ireland.
Post by: mirafioriman on June 05, 2009, 09:44:06 PM
Firstly apologies to Mark and Robert who kindly offered to meet me during my stay. Unfortunately I did not manage to get to them. Hopefully next time!

I took lots of photos while I was there. A small selection are here:

Perhaps some of our members can name some of the Irish places in some of the photos?

That's a very nice selection of photos and to my shame I don't recognise any of them - The old story of not knowing what is on one's own doorstep.  ???

Looks like you had some nice weather Dave. :)

Weather was great, only one wet day (Wednesday). I will give a few other forum members a chance before revealing all (if I need to!) Depends which part of Ireland you come from I could not name many places in the UK except the ones near me or very obvious like Big Ben etc!

Everyone was so friendly and the food and service in cafes and restaurants was excellent. We did find it expensive though as the Pound is so weak against the Euro.

Some good spots there, you obviously know Tipperary! Just one that caught you out, the gardens and one of the buildings is Blarney Castle (we had a day out).

The church hall (which was once the church) is in Anacarty near Dundrum. This is where my great great Grandfather was baptised in 1840 and his parents were married before then. So I do have some Irish blood.
