Title: 131 Volumetrico at it's birthground
Post by: bellamacchina on June 06, 2009, 09:57:55 PM
Immediately after 3MA we headed of to the Corso Marche in Torino to look for pictures from the original Abarth factory ;D

It is still there and what was even nicer, the door was open. NO, I didn't ask, we just used the oportunity, a great feeling to be at the place where our beauty has been modified ::) ::)

Corso Marche 38, at the next door is now situated the Abarth Centre for Torino. Nice people working overthere, wanted to know everything about my car(they didn't know about this part of Abarth history). With showing an original brochure the ice was fully broken. We got a guide through the showroom, workshop and a testdrive in the 500 esseesse!! Great little Abarth! After the drive we got 2 numberplateholders, holders for the frontwindow and an Abarth keyring.  ;D ;D

Very good Albert,

Were there any Spirits at the old site?

I went there in 2001 and it was a plumbing centre  ::) not much of a use for the birthplace of so many successful machines.....looks like its vacant now with the windows all boarded up...
what a waste  :'(

Here are a couple of pics from the 60's.

Thanks for the pictures Graham. I saw the Abarth diorama several times displayed at the big show in Padova and it's great to see!
