Front calipers from X1/9, 127, 128, 132 and Strada will fit your 131 as a straight swap.

Also newer-type calipers with sliding pistons will fit.
For the same 227mm discs Uno, Regata or bigger 257mm discs from Tipo/Tempra.

Hey , guys ,

Anybody has a spare set of mounting brackets for the Tipo type calipers (for  20x 257mm vented front disks) or know where I can buy them ?

Miro,
I recently bought a set of front brakes from a Tipo 2.0 16V from scrapyard for 400 Czech crowns which is aproximately 13 euro. I was asking at a few srapyards and they have a good stock of them. Also a local Fiat dealer offered me a new one for some 87 euro.
I think they should be also available at your location.

I was told a long time ago that rover 800 calipers will fit straight on but how true this is ?  just never got round to checking it out although even if they do im not sure what discs you would use maybe Thema ventilated ones?

Re: Rover 800 : very interesting , but not surprising as bthe Uno brakes are the Lucaks typr.

I will see if I can investigate it further and report on this thread.

However I would like to go for the Uno type as they have sports homologation for Fiat.

Wak 131,

I have not tried it , but will do.

On July 6, 2009 a friend will let me have his set for a day so I can try to fit it onto my car? If it does fit I will try local scrap yards. Our fiat dealers said so far they do not have it at all on their parts list (?)? ? ?

In case I fail would you be kind enough to see if you could find a set form me the same way you got yours? ( at your convenience and time permitting ?)

Hi Miro,
these days i?m just doing more investigation in what types of Tipo/Tempra and Uno-Turbo calipers are available NEW, for both non- and ventilated 257mm respectively 240mm vented Uno discs.
Also i?ll be probably making another trip to the scrapyard for another set of front brakes, so i can surely look for more of them and let you know ;)

I decided to use the non-vented variant of the 257mm discs for street use and because i want to use the original 14" steels, but i also keep the vented variant for further testing some day:)

If you are looking for just the caliper seals they can be purchased of Fiat still as they are the same as the Uno45 front caliper seals  ;D ;D

theredx19 ,

These are the same as Polski Fiat 125 p and Polonez and are available new here.

wak131 ,

I got used ones , but my friends assured me they are available (not OEM but replacements).

I just installed Uno Turbo calipers and they fit straight in.? I have put 240 vented disks on 13" wheels. You should have no problem putting 257 vented on the 14" wheels.

I am still very interested in caliper mounting brackets for Uno Trubo for the 257 disk.

If you find mounting brackets for Uno turbo calipers (Tipo/Tempra) with 257 vented disks - buy one set for me , please.?

I am also looking at Willwoods.

See

http://www.midwest124.com/Whoa_Brakes.htm

I am in touch with guys that have made Wilwood caliper kits for 124 spider on 13" wheels and 14" + wheels, as well as for 131 on 14" plus wheels. I will soon be testing  the ones made for 124 on 14: wheels on my 131 with 13" wheels. (I am told they may fit , provided the wheel profile is not too tight and a spacer is big enough.

I this works I will put the Uno Turbo brakes into my 124 spider which has 14" Cromodara CD 30 and put the Wilwoods on 131. If not the Wilwoods will go into my Spider and I will want to upgrade the current 131 brake setup to 257 discs.

So, way or another I need a caliper mounting bracket for Uno Turbo calipers for vented 257 disk ....

 :)

I?m not sure the 257 vented discs will fit the Uno Turbo calipers/cariers, I think the Tipo vs Uno type may be different size carriers, but i should know it soon.

I was testing the ability to fit the 257 vented discs into 14" 131 steels so that i put one of my wheels straight on to the Tipo 2.0 16V hub. Rotated the wheel several times a it was rubed some 2mm by the sharp edges of the carrier. But the wheel hub may be of different offset to 131, so still not sure..

When i have more time, i do further searches and return here.

Re 257

All is required is a different mounting bracket - one for 257's. I am not sure this was actually from Uno Turbo ( probably Tipo/Tempra) but it fits  The calipers are the same just the brackets are larger.

I will test a set on July 6/7 and tell you the result ?????

I have the Whoa's on my car. Killer brakes. You won't know why you waited so long.   ;D
I also have 14" rims.  Easy to come by.

Sorry for digging an old thread but I also moving same direction. I noticed that it is very easy to source Tipo / Tempra 2.0 16v etc 257,5mm  diameter front rotors for reasonable price about 30 euros a pair (new)

Now I am after front left / right calipers to use with these rotors. I haven 't searched yet but it must not be to hard to find new calipers

Have you use these setup ?

How hard to fabricate mounting brackets to fit them fiat 131 .

Cheers
