Driver's seat looks particularly good (from what can be seen) and may bear out a low mileage car.

LHD so rules out Ireland (Unless you convert it). I wonder if anybody in the UK would be interested in taking it on? Looks like it has potential if it's the right price ;)

We drive on the left just like the British, Australians and Japanesse but how this has a bearing on the sale of this car I dont understand but this not going to help this man sell his car with comments like this that dont even make any form of logic....

Maybe there are different interpretations of logic. A LHD car is useless in Australia as has been pointed out we drive on the left. So the car would have to be converted to RHD or used as parts. I assume the UK and Japan would be the same, unless you can get an exemption to drive a LHD vehicle in these countries.

as this is why I am saying this in Ireland and the UK you dont need any form of special exemptions or paperwork to drive a LHD car so how is it harder to drive a LHD in Ireland then the UK as this comment has probably removed a large  number of possible people to buy as a much higher percentage of 131s in Ireland the the UK are actually LHD. Unfortunately or not depending what way we look at we tend to go to mainland europe in search of clean rust free examples now as there is still a good few left for sale in europe and I have a few LHD cars and love driving them ;D ;D ;D

I,m sure I saw a comment on here saying Ireland was looking at baning the import of anymore LHD cars? Could this be what Mirafiorimans comment was based on?

No you can not ban them here as we are part of europe and are entitled to purchase goods and vehicles from member states....

I have heard lately that left hand drive cars in Ireland will command a much higher insurance premium, with insurance being expensive there anyway maybe this is what mirafioriman was meaning. :)

No with classics here there is maybe a 5 euro difference between LHD and RHD insurance but if people love a car which most people on this site do would this affect your purchase of a sport. The point I am making here is that remarks are being made again without seeing or talking to the venduer but rather the sale of a car is put in a grey light, is this so that people push the prices down to purchase them. Enthusiasts buy with their hearts as they are emmotional people  ;D ;D ;D

I can not find the post just now but I thought an Irish member stated it was now not possible to insure a LHD car in Ireland that was just imported and not previously insured there.

If I am wrong and my memory of the post is incorrect then I'm sorry, it was just how I remember it.

I think it was Sid131 who brought this thing up before about problems in obtaining insurance for LHD cars in Eire.I cannot comment any further on this as i don't know,but i do have a LHD Lada Niva which i am going to break,because it's LHD.
My opinion is RHD vehicles are ok for countries where you drive on the left and LHD vehicles are for countries where you drive on the right.
There should be one policy for the whole world that all cars should be Lhd as Lhd vehicles cover about 90% of the world.Again this is only my opinion.Eugene

Well I never had any problem insuring LHD cars and that even covers the old Dino and a Maserati Ghibli gt and once you have enough power in a left hook machine they are safe for overtaking and with Italian cars they tend to feel so much more fluid when driving....

i disagree once you go to overtake someone in an lhd if you have no passenger you have to nearly completly on the wrong side which i have meet loads of eastern european drivers who have no respect for road userers here as my father would always say :when in rome do as the romans do: plus the fact they dont tax or insure their cars any majority of them not all and i am not being racist just telling the truth which nowadays means racisim

Hector there is a trick to overtaking in a left hook car and that is to look up the inside of the traffic and when clear just gun it then as this works a treat  ;D ;D ;D

Its not that hard to convert from lh drive to rh drive all you need is a rh drive bulkhead out of a scrapped one You need to cut out the peddal holders and cut out the fusebox panel neatly and do the same one the lh drive And abit of neat welding to change them around Then you need to reposition the holes for the wipers Change steering rack to rh change over servo and master cylinder extend brake pipes RH drive accelerator and clutch cables needed also rhd wiring loom needed and a rhd dash and heater controls For anyone that is after an example like this one but wants a rh drive i think it would be well worth the effort
