Title: How much is this worth...?
Post by: kev131 on July 21, 2009, 09:53:27 PM
I've been looking (lusting) at this car for the last month or so but I feel that it is a little over priced compared with other similar cars that I have seen over the last year or so...

The paintwork and condition looks superb and I actually like the idea of the partial roll cage and seat harness in case I got a bit carried away in the car. Also the engine mods look useful if restrained although maintaining the dual carb set up might be a bit trickier than the standard...? The wheels are also bigger than the standard 14s but they do suit the car in my opinion.

Anyway I would be interested in hearing what people think its value is - Kms is between 85 and 90k, year is 1985 according to the seller but I don't think they were made that late seeing at it was possible to buy an A Reg Series 2 Abarth!  ??? I think the production was 1981 to maybe 1983. Of the three colours it came in (Red, Black & Silver) this is my favourite.

Note the unusual solution for the spare wheel location which was normally stored in the engine compartment in lesser models.

Is it a 125 Kev? If it is they are rare in the Uk as is the 105, 130s seem much more plentiful. In the UK decent 130s seem to be making about ?3000-?4000. They do not seem to be as sought after as the 131 sport in my opinion although they do have a loyal following.

You should ask the question on www.strada130.co.uk as that is a specialist Strada site with a lot of Strada owners and enthusiasts over there.

As it is advertised for sale in Italy I'm guessing they are asking 8,000 to 10,000 euro for it ;D

Sorry Dave... I meant to come back on this.  ???

Yes it's a 125TC, you can tell by the wing badges and the side stripes near the sills saying Abarth 2000. I'm not sure if there were other differences with the 105TC aside from Pirelli Plus 1 alloy wheels, different beige coloured upholstery and of course the engine.

Top marks for your valuation - It began at ?9000 and is now at ?8500. Still way too much in my opinion as I have seen 2 similar low mileage examples not messed around, with for less than ?5k.  :)

It is interesting that cars seem to cost more in their home country. As a keen Mercedes enthusiast as well as Fiat I was interested to notice that classic Mercedes models in Germany seem to sell for more than in the UK (or at least the owners ask more).

Well Kev it will get that type money back in the home land as they are sought after but if you buy it changes those carbs for the real ones but just remember there is no such thing as a cheap classic...

Prices for these cars in Italy are on the up, there are very few left in good condition. You do a good job when you can find a minter for less then 6K, actually the same story as with our beloved Racings.
Ritmo 130s are  a little more common. I love the details on these earlier Ritmo's more, that makes it special in my opinion. Ritmo 105's are almost disappeared but there is still less interest. If you like I can send here a great article about these cars :D

Yes another nice one Albert and in the colour I would like and less messed with than the other one.

The present owner is trying to turn a nice profit as this car was sale at a bargain ?4950 in Messina (Sicily) in Feb this year.

The car at the start of this thread has just had it's price reduced by another $500 - Now ?8000.

There is another one in silver on the same website that looks just fresh off the production line... at a non negotiable ?10k!  :o

The credit crunch is certainly biting - I've seen 2 131 Sports that were for sale at ?8k a piece in Italy now selling for ?6k and ?4.5!
