Title: Re: electric window/ central locking Post by: hammerbeirne on August 15, 2009, 04:04:30 PM Hello dave would that fit beside handbrake in mk 2 as i am thinking of installing electric windows to my one
Title: Re: electric window/ central locking Post by: david on August 15, 2009, 04:47:05 PM Well I suppose you could fit it there but you would have to make something up to secure it, it is out of mk3 131 which was in centre consul, David
Title: Re: electric window/ central locking Post by: hammerbeirne on August 16, 2009, 09:32:18 PM Sorry dave i cant remember where these panels were fixed in centre consol could you enlighten me as i would like to have it in its proper position if possible
Title: Re: electric window/ central locking Post by: mirafioriman on August 16, 2009, 10:01:17 PM Next to the handbrake on series 3 supers. I think the centre consul is different to the sport one, but you could fit one from a series 3 super if you wanted to.
Title: Re: electric window/ central locking Post by: hammerbeirne on August 16, 2009, 10:07:47 PM Thanks mirafioriman are the consuls the same apart from the switches?
Title: Re: electric window/ central locking Post by: mirafioriman on August 16, 2009, 10:14:24 PM I think the sport and series 3 ones are the same as the gear levers are the same design. The series 2 are different as the gear lever is direct not remote.
Title: Re: electric window/ central locking Post by: david on August 17, 2009, 05:48:41 AM It was next to the handbrake but different design and as I recall the gearstick was remote but longer and I think remote was slightly different angle to the left by a few mm but could be wrong as it was 15 to 20 years ago I last had a mk3 and only had sports since but you could probably fit it but then you would want to match the colour of your dash as sport as I recall has brown or dark greyish black and mk3 was black or brown but werent they a different shade? Should have set of relays that control the electric windows and central locking somewhere, David
