I'm not sure whether this car still exists but there is a lovely full page colour photo in the magazine, of the yellow car slidding around a corner in a snow bound British country lane - which I have framed and mounted on my living room wall.

At the time the Abarth was huge money when compared with the standard models for sale at the same time. I think a 1600S was in the region of ?1,800 with all the extras (you know, things like heated rear screen and seat belts ;D) whereas the Abarth was more than ?4,400 :o Bearing in mind that my father purchased a brand new three bedroomed detached house near Camberley, Surrey, in 1975 for ?10,000 it shows how expensive the Abarth was! Interesting to note however that the same house today would be worth close to ?325,000, the Abarth doesn't seem to have faired too well! :-\

Interesting price comparisons - You could almost say that the Abarth's reg no is personalised :

"VUC..! That's expensive"!...... ;D
