Great pictures Carlos - I never realised that Fiat racing, especially in the bigger salooons, was so popular in your part of the world!  :)

Kevin, yes Fiat has always been involved in racing here. Today in the professional series they still have a lot of participation. In the regional professional series you will find a lot of Unos and still some 128s. In the National series they participate in rally with the Palio and in Touring 2000cc with the Linea (a notch vesion of the Punto) racing against Civics, Focus, Chevrolet Astra, etc.
Some pictures of the Linea.
regards

I love to see the pictures of the good old days. Please post as much as you can/have.
Are there still a few older cars on the road? I was thinking of older coupe's which never were for sale in Europe?

Greetings, Albert

Albert, yes, you can still see some good old Fiats running around. Regretfully some years ago the goverment created a plan to modernize the cars. They discounted some money on new cars if you gave an old car as trade in. As you can imagine this killed a lot of good old cars  that ended up crushed.
Nowadays more ans more people get involved the classic car activities so this is giving value and saving a lot of the remaining cars. For example, the dicount given by  the goverment in the 90s was U$S4000. Today a good Fiat 1500 2 door could cost U$S10000 or more. See:
 http://www.automovilsport.com/clasificados/venta-autos/fiat-publi.asp
where 1$  = U$S 3.85
I will take some pictures of street cars and post them soon.
Regards

Thanks Carlos,

Everywhere in the world the same shit with trashing good cars. They dumped 5 billion in Germany this way and really great cars went away! Here in Holland the pain is less but we also bring some good cars to the crusher. I am trying to save a few cars in Italy, I will tell more when I know more.
Are there also some Ika's around there? And do you know anybody who is in brochures from south american builded cars?
The little Fiat coupe's I really love!
Greetings, Albert

Albert, yes, IKA had a Plant here were they built the Carabela (awful car in my opinion), Estancieras, Jeeps, Ramblers and the iconic (here in Argentina) the Torino. Nowadays this plant belongs to Renault.
If you read Spanish there is a nice site with the history of all the cars ever built in Argentina the link is:

Hope you enjoy it.
