Title: Argenta wheeltrim issues Post by: mirafioriman on December 06, 2009, 11:54:42 PM So tried my new wheeltrims on the new wheels I have and as I thought I encountered problems.
(http://media8.dropshots.com/photos/219884/20091206/144608.jpg) The valve hole did not line up if you line up the wheel bolt holes. They don't look right to me either and the holes in the wheeltrim don't touch the wheel centre. My deduction series 1 and series 2 Argentas use different wheels. ::) (http://media8.dropshots.com/photos/219884/20091206/144644.jpg) Above is a new wheel I have..... Below are pictures of the wheel trim and wheel part numbers. Perhaps someone here will be able to enlighten me as to what is what and what I need? Title: Re: Argenta wheeltrim issues Post by: djape1977 on December 07, 2009, 12:58:26 AM beats me pal. i can supply a set of second hand argenta mk2 wheels if it's what you need. mk1 wheels i don't have. i thought they were the same. to be honest, i never paid any attention to wheels on argentas, those were just ordinary steel wheels for me...

wheels are at my friends summerhouse, 70km out of town, so i can't get the photos right away. you'll get 'em before the spring though ::) Title: Re: Argenta wheeltrim issues Post by: mirafioriman on December 07, 2009, 08:51:10 PM Looking at the photos on the link the wheels do look similar to the ones I have.
More investigations needed....... Title: Re: Argenta wheeltrim issues Post by: mirafioriman on January 22, 2010, 10:13:43 PM (http://i.ebayimg.com/01/!BkKFqmQBWk~$(KGrHqMH-CsEs-Gy7hmoBLWY!8QkB!~~_35.JPG)
So above is a Croma with similar trims. On the Croma the trims go right up to the rim, however, on the Argenta it looks like they don't as there are chrome trim rings fitted. I'm wondering if the trims I bought are not Argenta ones but ones from some other car such as a Croma for example ??? Title: Re: Argenta wheeltrim issues Post by: Gremlino on January 23, 2010, 12:15:01 PM Quote I'm wondering if the trims I bought are not Argenta ones but ones from some other car If I remember correctly this style of trims for 14" wheels were on the Argenta, Strada, Regatta, Croma and Tempra here in the UK. The 13" wheel versions were for the Uno, Duna, Fiorino, Panda and Tipo. If the holes in the trim are not deep enough to reach the bolt holes in the Argenta wheel then it would suggest a FWD application for your trims. It might seem obvious to some (many have discovered this already) but I hope this helps with any possible crossover between them ;) Title: Re: Argenta wheeltrim issues Post by: mirafioriman on January 23, 2010, 09:37:51 PM So it looks like my 'Argenta' trims, may not be Argenta trims!
Looks like I must continue to search! At least I have four new wheels :) Title: Re: Argenta wheeltrim issues Post by: theredx19 on January 23, 2010, 10:15:51 PM I know a lad might have a few set of the correct ones but I know he watches the site and now knows how rare they are as this may reflect in his price...
Title: Re: Argenta wheeltrim issues Post by: mirafioriman on January 23, 2010, 10:49:18 PM Well it costs nothing to ask ;)
Title: Re: Argenta wheeltrim issues Post by: mirafioriman on November 13, 2010, 04:51:00 PM Got some! Only two again but these are Argenta ones!
(http://media6.dropshots.com/photos/219884/20101113/000129.jpg) Trial fitted to wheel: (http://media7.dropshots.com/photos/219884/20101113/000202.jpg) Came from Italy for a very reasonable price. Looking for two more now, the incorrect pair will be up on ebay just in case someone needs them. |
