Correct - That was not in the article - Are you saying the driver was you Si..? If so, can you explain what happened
 since then...? ;D

Btw can you post the earlier shots in a way that they can be downloaded? I'd like them for my collection.  :)

JPD was first registered in about March 1980 and I had the car for about three years, and it was even used as one of our Wedding Cars in 1992. The pic on the roundabout and with the helicopter were taken as part of the Classic and Sportscar article that Martin Buckley wrote in about 1991, although it wasn't published until August 1992.

The pic of me on the circuit was taken at Castle Combe in 1993, weeks before the car was written off. ::)

August 1992 I was given a brand new  white Montego 2.0 Diesel Turbo Clubman saloon as a company car and my new wife asked if she could use the Sport to drive the 20 mile or so round trip to work each day, and like a fool, I said yes. ::)

Can you see what's coming?

One evening I got the call that I was dreading - she'd driven it into a parked car on the way home and could I go and get her. :'( I'd have to say at this point that she was as upset as I was and to this day I wont let her forget it!

My insurance company were convinced that the cars suspension was damaged during the crash and insisted it was broken for scrap. So I purchased it back and stripped it myself of all parts that weren't damaged. The engine I sold to pay a debt of having my garden fence repaired. The then brand new doors and the gearbox were sold to a guy, who, through a twist of fate I purchased them back from more than 15 years afterwards :o. The rear bumper I sold to Theo years ago, to fit to his silver Sport Dudley,. Various otherparts I still have but the shell was scapped. I helped load the remains onto the truck myself, in September 1993. One of the saddest days of my life :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

And that's the bumper that's now fitted to my current Sport.

I was hoping you wouldn't ask me that one. :-X

At one time I had two complete interiors - one from JPD and another from I can't remember where. Unfortunately I moved house in 2001 and had nowhere to store anything of that size - so (shame of all shames on me) I dumped them!  :-[ :'( Infact, because I had two sets my local Council wanted to charge me to dump them as more than one set was considered 'trade or industrial waste'! ::)

Simon when i lived in England & was home on holidays my dad cornered me & said he wanted his shed back, so i got a trailer & dumped 2 doors wings bootlid bonnet grill & tailights all glass & complete balck interior in the quarry, but back then the parts were worth nothing & i did buy the 131 sport they came from for ?120 & sold the roof for ?50 & the engine & box for ?150 also the complete exhaust went on my sport Fib.

I can't claim to be as evil and deserving of punishment as Nick & Si but I have dumped a full set of arches and spoiler when moving back to Ireland from the UK. ::) :o

Maybe we have a new subject matter for a thread here...Fiat 131 nightmares... :)
