You never used to have to pay to use the FMC forum. ??? I didn't think that had changed. :-\ Perhaps Theo can enlighten us as he manages their website too. ;)

You have to pay to be a member of the Fiat Motor Club GB but that's only if you want a magazine and membership card, etc.

Not only you don't have to pay to use the FMC forum, you don't even need to register to be able to post messages. The forum, except for the new "FMC members section", is open to all. The members' section is password protected and the password is printed in the Parliamo magazine. So if you have the magazine, you have the password. But to be honest there's very little in the Members Section and the last post was over a month ago.

You need to have the Flash plugin installed and enabled. It's causing a lot of people a lot of problems on that site  :-\ I wish I hadn't wasted my time updating it now but too many were complaining it was too simple and old fashioned and wanted more functionality.

FIAT 132 1800ES FOR SALE

After much consideration, I have decided to sell my Fiat 132ES.

The "ES" was the limited edition, last of the 1800 cc cars, with the fabulous 1756 twin cam producing 111 bhp on a single, twin choke weber carb. all round disc brakes, excellent 5 speed gearbox, giving the car very good "driving qualities." This car is wonderfully comfortable, more so than many a modern, whilst giving good accomodation for up to 5 adults and their luggage.

My own car is finished in silver metallic with the blue, brushed nylon upholstery., as shown in the 1800ES brochures.

The car is offered as a resto project but all is complete to make a very highly presentable car. Engine and gearbox, out of car as well as interior.

HISTORY. The car has had just 4 owners, 1st owner, from Cheshire 1977-2000; 2nd owner (garage) 2000 -2001; 3rd owner (Ben) 2001 2002; Myself 6/6/2002-present.

ENGINE; Has been previously overhauled whilst with 1st owner. In my ownership kept oil changes to 1000 mile intervals, new water pump , clutch, rebuilt carb(auto choke works perfectly), cam belt and tensioner changed(tensioner not usually service item on these older cars but changed mine as it was getting noisy with age), valve clearances perfect. Uses no oil or water.

GEARBOX .excellent , no cause to doubt it.Regular oil changes ,every 12 months, of oil etc;

BODYWORK. Previously had bare metal respray, found metal to be sound underneath , only needed inner wheel arch repair.. Will need re-painting due to paint reaction, plus new panels (new genuine Fiat panels supplied with car.)

INTERIOR . Excellent and all complete with period push button Radiomobile car radio, (needs car ariel)

I hope someone will find the love to preserve this (potentially) lovely car .(Featured in CARS section on this website.) So looking for serious enquires only. If not sufficent interest, will consider splitting her for spares, although I know I will be heart-broken if it comes to this, These cars are extremely rare, poss 30-50 cars in UK ,yet service parts are plentiful,as shared with other Fiats of the era.

I remember at the time Martin telling me that he intended to take the car off the road for a full restoration and I couldn't understand why as the car looked perfect to me. Then Martin pointed out some minor paint blemishes on the roof of the car and said "once you start with things like that you might as well do everything". I thought at the time that a restoration was overkill but that was over 5 years ago.  I would say that if the condition of the car has not seriously deteriorated during that time (and I doubt that it has as the car seemed to be well mollycoddled by Martin) then it would make a very good car and a relatively easy project for someone willing to take it on. But as with all these old cars you should always go and see it and have a very thorough inspection before committing to buy.

that looks excellent. if the price is right, why not?
most parts are still available here and there. brakes, suspension and engine parts can still be bought new in regular shops. if i were you, i'd buy it and drive it. if it begins to show it's age after a while, and i suspect it will in a couple of years of everyday driving, then do a full resto.

i'd like to buy and drive , but the car is stripped ,engine out ,gearbox out  ,interior all stripped out  and exterior stripped and needs to be sprayed

nuts! why did he do that for???
well, i gues that it's just the matter of patience then
