Didnt I read on this site somewhere that in Ireland that cars over 30 years old dont have to have an mot ?  is that true ?  Think this might be the exception to the rule. although I would love to drive it about in this condition...

Yes that is correct,however the test is very strict for cars under 30yrs old and if the test is brought in to do cars 30yrs and over,well they won't be on the road :'(..The NCT(National car test) here in Eire is much more strict than in UK.The Red Lad who is a forum member here is a NCT tester.He can tell us more ::)Eugene

I agree that the test is strict Eugene but i know that my 1976 celica would pass any test.

I dont know why that 128 is on done deal , the guy was paid to take the car away & also the plates are now on another 128 i believe??

Your right many a car fails on rust which is followed by I only bought the car and it came with 10 months MOT on it but as we tell them it just hasnt reached our standards here

The annoying thing with a car that rusty is that it probably had perfect rear turrets (the normal 128 killer), its just that everthing else had fallen apart around them  :D
