Title: 3MA Coverage in the press Post by: kev131 on July 25, 2007, 05:56:28 PM There is 1 dedicated classic car magazine in Ireland that started a few years ago. It seems to to be going from strength to strength fuelled no doubt by the burgeoning classic scene in Ireland. It's name is Irish Vintage Scene and I contacted the editor about 3MA early in 2007. I had an acknowledgement and a promise that it would be put in the diary but heard no more.
Luckily Pat H seems to know the editor and sent in a few pics and some detail and when leafing through the magazine today our little event jumped out at me. I like the tag of European meeting of the Fiat 131 Owners Club although we are not officially a club ...yet! Here is a scanned image (note the familiar yellow 124 AC below). A 2 or 3 page spread would have been nice -Wish I followed this up more.? ::) (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l250/kev131/img059.jpg) Title: Re: 3MA Coverage in the press Post by: Thotos on July 25, 2007, 07:37:03 PM we are not officially a club ...yet! "Club" - Definition: A group of people organised for a common purpose, especially a group that meets regularly We certainly have a "common purpose" to enjoy our 131s as much as possible ;D we certainly "meet" here in cyberspace very regularly and some of us even met at the 3MA which has now been decided will be a regular (annual) event so we meet all the requirements of a Club! Title: Re: 3MA Coverage in the press Post by: simon131 on July 26, 2007, 05:41:00 AM Yeah, I agree! ;D ;D We all have a common purpose - to keep our beloved 131s going for as long as possible in the best possible condition and to increase awareness of the model, for the benefit of all!
"The FIAT 131 Owners Club" does have acertain ring to it don't you think? :P If we are not yet officially a club perhaps it's time we were! ;) ;D 8) Fantastic that there is a piece in the Irish Classic Car Press Kev - with pictures too! ;D If I'm not mistaken the three most 'important' cars are included somewhere in the?picture - that's mine, Kev's and Theo's? ;D :D ;) :D ;D ;D 8) :P The bit about Pat and Andy's Abarth's being the only two in Ireland isn't strictly true though is it? I thought that another red Stradale (TKZ 4319) had come out to play at a show towards the north of the country (NIIMC All Ireland Italian Car Day) earlier this year(?) and doesn't Pat now also have a genuine Group 4 car in his stable? Title: Re: 3MA Coverage in the press Post by: Tristan on July 26, 2007, 11:44:22 AM We have "pull" with the editor , a Mr. Tom Heavey , (he bought a camper of us ;D) , at the time he was contacted we didn't have the Grp4 . Also we weren't aware of that minter , minter Northern one at the time .
