131mirafiori forum

Just wondering do any of you folks have a name on your 131 like Betsy or LUIGI or such like?

I actually have one for my rally car, it is "Skurwysyn" which means "son of a bitch" as i have noticed that if i call my car with some sweet names it gets broken and if i treat it the right way then all is fine :)

Yea i noticed that too if you praise your car something will happen to it  and if you dont  it stays ok Its a bit like tempting fate or something

I used to have a ute that I referred to as "The pig" and my brother had a ute the he called "Uterus", he even had it painted in grey house paint, with a brush, across the back of the tailgate. I don't have a name for my Fiat.

My 131 Sport is called the olympic flame (it never goes out)  ;D ;D due to the Scottish weather  :D

Yes I do and not ashamed to admit it  ;) ;D And it's not always from the number plate either  ;D

Then there's Trev (rather obvious that one for those of you who know my cars),  (Gorgeous) Gilbert, (Marvellous) Marvin, (Aristocratic) Anthony (Aris Ant for short  ;D) and Luigi. And there used to be Eddy, Gavor, Dudley, Henry etc...

What ever happened to Vicki? Last I heard she gave up Fiats and moved to St Albans or somewhere...

Well I've watched this thread grow but I still haven't plucked up the courage to reveal the names of my two 131s - All my family & neighbours know the names but they think I'm just soft in the head!! ;D

Well my daughter just christened my orange one TIGGER lets hope it lives up to its name trying to have it on da road in december as thats its 30 birthday ;D

My replica carries the name "Oli'' which is short for Oliofiat. She has this name since 1988. I had an "Ali" too. Guess where that name came from... :D
The Abarth project is simply called "The Abarth" and the Racing or rather mirafiori Sport is called:"the Walter Rohrl".

yeah but this is the 1st time i see this kind of engine!
but as i asked before could it be done to 131!! and just askin how much hp would reach for 131!!

No turbo on an 037, supercharger only.

Lancia delta S4 ecv had Triflux head, two turbos and a supercharger.

    By adding a supercharger all it will do is boost the lower end power and acceleration, its not done to add any top end power, this is what the turbo's are for.  The limiting factor is, How strong can you make the engine,  How much can you get the top end to flow,   and lastly you need to suppress Detonation/Pinking, this is the killer, the engine melts its pistons and valves.

  Generally the question is,not how much power can it produce,but How long will it hold together, apparently the old Ford kent engine will do over 400bhp, but for only 90seconds. If you look at the Thundersaloon thread, we'le find out together what we can get, the group2 road/race may be easier to afford as I'm trying to slap that together from old bits laying around, the thundersaloon thread (Toad) should be around 550+  the Group2 road/race thread should be about 260-320, it depends on which management system we use.

I knew a lancia  Beta man in Altorne essex he had  vx's and delta's and a prototype masser 4 door  . i went round for a vx head and he had this twincam vx engine on the deck with the delta turbo manifold ready to go in something
 he just bolted all spare bits he had on it .
    I don't now if he put it in somthing, a monte or beta and whether he  got it up and running  ;D

its just to see lancia with 1000hp! and 131 not?! its annoying   ???
it kills me the most to see FIAT the big name who owns Ferrari and dont have a car by its name FIAT to compete with supercars that have more than 400hp as a sport car! ???

so TOAD ur planes to get 550+hp?!  :D

You may get your wish to see a 131 competing with the Gt's   it all depends on the power we get, or don't get.  ;D

Delta S4 was the best rally car ever build. There will never be an equal. Too bad it was also a very dangerous car.
