Title: Getting ready for 3MA10 - Abarth Post by: simon131 on April 14, 2010, 12:27:59 PM Well, at least I hope it's getting ready ::)
Took the Abarth to Mark at IRS near Basildon last Saturday (10th) for various items to be attended to prior to the trip to German in a few weeks. I only hope that things get sorted quickly and easily and that he doesn't find anything we weren't aware of :o Title: Re: Getting ready for 3MA10 - Abarth Post by: jasonh131 on April 17, 2010, 02:52:34 PM i saw it today ,, with a fresh mot ,,and i think you should still get these just in case your springs don't spring on the scene :ohttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Spring-Assistors-Fits-FIAT-131-72-86-Towing-Suspension_W0QQitemZ290417639241QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item439e3d7f49 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Spring-Assistors-Fits-FIAT-131-72-86-Towing-Suspension_W0QQitemZ290417639241QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item439e3d7f49)
and there was a work shop full of 131 amazing ;D ;D Title: Re: Getting ready for 3MA10 - Abarth Post by: simon131 on April 19, 2010, 08:07:51 AM I think you're right Ja.
I've been let down by the guy who was going to sell me his suspension components so now I'm left more than a little up the creek!! I think the spring assistors might be the only viable solution as the company in Sheffield who could make me springs can't promise to deliver before we leave for Germany. Title: Re: Getting ready for 3MA10 - Abarth Post by: simon131 on April 26, 2010, 07:20:05 AM Glad to report that the Abarth passed its MoT last week, so there appears to be nothing very wrong with it ;D Shouldn't be either really as it's only done about 5,000 miles since the last one. 8)
It will get new front discs, pads and tyres for the journey and the tracking setting up again as I had a new track rod end fitted last year and the monkey doing it was incapable of putting things back the way he found them! >:( Hopefully have a stereo fitted too, as I'm not sure how 'happy' the occupants will be without music for several long days driving. ::) Still trying to get things sorted in respect of the springs, and I have my fingers crossed that I will be in possession of all of the information required in the next couple of days to enable me to get repros made. Here's hoping... :) Title: Re: Getting ready for 3MA10 - Abarth Post by: simon131 on May 11, 2010, 11:44:29 AM Abarth collected on Saturday (with the help of my friend Theo ;D) so now being used daily to check it for any obvious ills before the off! 8)
Had a new stereo fitted whilst it was away so now have some sounds for the long journey ;D Wasn't able to properly sort the spring issue but have found a way around it for the short term. ;) Don't want my diff being ripped off on the first bump we happen to drive over :o Title: Re: Getting ready for 3MA10 - Abarth Post by: kev131 on May 11, 2010, 11:47:36 AM Good news Simon - I hope the radio doesn't stop you entertaining us with ribald and caustic comments about our fellow planet dwellers as we drive along!! :D ;)
Title: Re: Getting ready for 3MA10 - Abarth Post by: simon131 on May 11, 2010, 11:52:53 AM Might have to tone that down a (little) bit as will have all three :o kids along in the car too!
I'm sure that we'll still be able to have plenty of fun all the same! ;) Title: Re: Getting ready for 3MA10 - Abarth Post by: Thotos on May 11, 2010, 01:39:35 PM That reminds me! I better buy some batteries for the walkie-talkies....
