Title: Newzealand super for sale
Post by: italianxrays on June 07, 2010, 09:42:13 PM
:) They do like their modern alloys on retro cars what a shame IMHO. Also some sport type body parts a strange beast indeed ?

I think that it looks nice with the weels and the arches and front spoiler of the sport... Also the seats are from a MkII or III...

At least his pricing is more realistic than this one:

?22k for a good replica Stradale. Is that too much these days? Looks like a good job, even though the steering wheel is on the 'wrong' side! :D ;)

Hi Tas,

There was a genuine Stradale for sale in Australia 3 or 4 years ago for what I thought at the time was hugely over the top money (US$50,000) but it did eventually sell at that sort of level, so ?22k (so about half the price of genuine Stradale) for a good, well worked replica (at least that's what it looks like in the pics!) wouldn't sound too much to me - assuming it was done correctly. OK, this car is a converted 'Racing'/Sport and has no 'trick' rear suspension, but is it not still worth around ?15k sterling/cNZ$32k?

What sort of price should a replica be selling for 'down under' then? :) Much cheaper?

Simon

Hi Simon.I remember that Stradale in Aussie being sold.Big  $$$$s but had all the paper work with it i believe, also at the same time was a Orange 131 R with all the goodies that went for $15000.Au .Only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.Looks great. All it needs is the new CD copys been made over your way. Got a quote the other day .1200 English pounds. Bit to high for me.Should test the market by selling my 131.Cost to restore against buying finished one . Hard call. Cheers Gary

"Tell him he's dreamin" $48000 is way too much for a 131 with a body kit, even if they are kiwi pesos.

Thought that would be a good buy for a TAS 131.When you work out the exchange rate between the Kiwi (pesos) and the Tasmanian Convict Dollar its a cheap 2 door131.Got to be good value. Gary

That super above looks like a nice car to me. Pretty good value at 1200 euros too.

Thanks for your comments Gary and Tas,

Its always interesting to hear what our 'loves' are worth in different parts of the World. 8)

I've spent quite a lot of time around SE Queensland over the last 20 years as my wife's family all live around Redcliffe City, and I'm always interested to hear about 131s over there. I spent my honeymoon touring around in a Ford Festiva (aka Kia Pride) back in 1992 and found a beautiful series 3 2000TC super in metallic blue with air cond on the beach  :o at Noosa - got pics somewhere. A similar car was made aware to me that was for sale and it was about three times the price that I could have got for my own car (which was the same w/o the air con) at the time.

Must admit though that I'm always staggered at the high price of second hand cars in Oz!  :o Thousands of dollars for 'sheds'. Still, if that's what the market dictates....

Cheers guys,

Simon

That is a very nice replica but I agree...too many dollars for a N.Z. market. Also note....that may not the price he is asking...thats the start price to bid!! He has a reserve on it which could  be higher. Start may not be reserve. Still.... I would be happy to have it in my garage. Gary... are you seriously considering selling MF131? Any indication of a price please if you are? By PM if you like.
