a friend of mine put his ford capri in for a test today ,its  a 1980 uk car  but he got a logbook of a 79 irish 1 and swapped the plates,,,failed on 1 spot of weld needed and thats it,,my question is do they not check the chasis number with the logbook???

but if it was 79 it didnt need to be tested???
of course they check the numbers! we used to have a failing expert on here but he is departed

I think i will stick with Scottish/UK MOTs as these Irish MOTs sound far to strict for me.  ;D

Its all about how much money the Irish government can squeeze out of the people   as ive said before the NCT?? is all a money makeing racket for the fat cats in dail eireann In fact as far as i know the crowd that run the nct are a private company so they are surely also getting a big cut out of your 50 euros plus the 27 euros you pay when you are inevitably brought back for a retest And then they want us to buy new cars or murder your 9 or 10 year old car in a crusher these older cars are much less troublesome than the new crap they are trying to force on us Even if we wanted a new car what would we use for money Getting back to the nct one test?? center in county Letrim supposedly racked in 4million in profit last year ROBBERY >:(
