SE031 V6 normally aspirated 3481cc, 270bhp@6800rpm, 29.5mkg@5200rpm, Max speed 258kph. Overall vehicle weight 1120kg SE035 4cyl fuel injected Volumetrico 1452cc, 325bhp@8600rpm, torque n/avail, Max speed 280kph Overall vehicle weight 1020kg The 031 was kept (relatively) low power/high reliability for the Giro d'italia races (which it won), the 035 was a development car with potential to be a silouette racer..... never fulfilled as the company interest went to Lancia and the development of the Beta Monte Carlo Turbo (first run with the 035 Volumetrico engine). The picture of the 131 with the 'hatched' rear looks like an aero development test. The shape does remind me of the rear hatch area of the Lancia S4 (SE038) so perhaps the data from the 131 tests was put to use later? Title: Re: design study for Abarth 035 ? Post by: mirafiori76 on August 24, 2010, 09:46:13 PM Here is some more info about the 035. Car was withdrawn because it was found to be too slow. Next to that, the car couldn't be handled at the highest speeds. It kind of felt like it would take off and fly away ;) :D
Just look at the aerodynamics of the car: no front wing and an exceptional big one at the rear. It would lift it's nose while driving at top speed. Talking about a "dangerous" wonderflower. ;D Title: Re: design study for Abarth 035 ?
