Title: Dizzy on the other side Post by: mirafiori76 on October 16, 2010, 12:48:24 PM Now here is an engine which i have never seen. It's got the distributor on the other side. Also some parts that i never saw on a volumex engine. It seems to have turbo as well. ??? And it's not build in a Racing. Look at the color of the car.
Who can tell more about this engine? Albert perhaps? Title: Re: Dizzy on the other side Post by: mirafioriman on October 16, 2010, 01:27:22 PM Looks like the head or engine is from a later twin cam where the head flows the other way such as the engines fitted to the Lancia Thema
Title: Re: Dizzy on the other side Post by: mirafiori76 on October 16, 2010, 01:44:05 PM The flow is the same. Inlet left, outlet right.
Title: Re: Dizzy on the other side Post by: Tas131 on October 17, 2010, 02:01:34 AM It's not a reverse port head. The cambox or the whole setup maybe Lancia in origin, some Betas had the inlet side cam mounted dizzy.

it's cambox from Lancia Beta Montecarlo Enzo ;) Title: Re: Dizzy on the other side Post by: 131v6 on October 17, 2010, 07:15:40 AM I owned this car briefly before removing the engine and selling the car. Engine was Argenta with Volumex pistons and blower. There was a custom exhaust manifold and small turbo in series with the blower and an intercooler. Cambox and dizzy were off a NZ market 132 with air conditioning but yes is same as montecarlo. The car was very quick!

A couple of threads on here about doing this like the 037 , what sort of BHP did you have nice engineering project you had there :o :) Title: Re: Dizzy on the other side Post by: 131v6 on November 09, 2010, 06:50:55 PM I don't think anyone ever dynoed it and i only drove it a small distance. If i had to guess i'd say around 180-200hp but the massive torque was most impressive. I remember being taken aback at its ability to break traction in 4th gear/ 50mph. Hopefully it ends up in a car again eventually.
Title: Re: Dizzy on the other side Post by: mirafiori76 on December 08, 2010, 04:21:30 PM ??? But the engine IS in a car. Not?
Title: Re: Dizzy on the other side Post by: 131v6 on December 10, 2010, 01:28:24 AM no, unfortunately the engine is currently sitting in a workshop gathering dust.
Title: Re: Dizzy on the other side Post by: mirafiori76 on December 10, 2010, 07:39:27 AM And what happened to the car?
Title: Re: Dizzy on the other side Post by: 131v6 on December 12, 2010, 05:41:59 AM i put a 1600 in it and sold it to a guy who used it as his everyday car for a couple of years. It has changed hands a couple of times since and is i believe now being made into a race car.
