Title: Re: murat Post by: Robert on November 14, 2010, 11:39:43 AM The early "Murat" 131 (built starting 1976) is almost 100% identical to the 1st Fiat 131 series, the second series also - however, there were no 2 door cars and no TC engines built at any time, and the biggest engine was the 1600 with single camshaft. 5-speed gearboxes were available in the second series ("5 vites"). With the introduction of model names "Sahin" (roughly equivalent to the CL model), "Dogan" (roughly equivalent to the "Supermirafiori", with gadgets like power windows etc.) and "Kartal" (the Turkish equivalent to the "Panorama") the design changed (front/back/doors), as did interior and some technology parts (late models even with fuel injection). Chassis parts never changed AFAIK. If you are looking for parts that really fit the 1st or 2nd series "Murat", you have a very good chance that these parts also fit your car.

Back axle also, hoever they came with are different ratios. There's a guy in Germany who bought a new diff in Turkey to fit his Sport if I remember right. I assume Yagmur knows the exact specs for the different ratios.

Tofaş (T?rk Otomobil Fabrikası Anonim Şirketi) is partly owned by Fiat and from the beginning built Fiat cars under license for the Turkish market which was hard to get into. Other companies had the same approach - for example, Otosan (owned partially by Ford), amonmg other cars, built the Taunus model (Cortina in the UK) with little modifications for the Turkish market after production had ceased in Europe.
