Title: Wheel change....
Post by: kev131 on November 21, 2010, 03:36:49 PM
My Sport is still sitting on the original dark grey cloverleaf wheels that Fiat supplied when new. Being a European supplied car this means that the wheel is a 13 inch size currently wearing Pirelli 185 /70/13s.

I flirted briefly with the idea of fitting the alloy wheel style as fitted as OE in the Irish market but had a bad experience with steel wheel bolts wearing away the light alloy. I always intended trying again as I now have a set of suitable wheel bolts but was waiting to get a set of tyres.

That should be soon as my regular wheel choice was always going to be a 14 inch wheel with a more sporty profile tyre. Now that I have finally found a set of painted 14 inch cloverleaf wheels I'll now be sourcing a set of Pirelli P6/P6000 185/60/14s. The old 13 inch tyres can go on the alloys as an alternative look when I feel like it.

Incidentally if anyone is after Pirelli tyres which I've found to be very difficult to source in this size, particularly in Ireland, I use this firm in Germany. A set of 5 P6s costs ?271 delivered anywhere in Europe.....

The original grey wheels arent too bad, but the wheels for Supermirafiori 1st series look better, by my opinion. One could always paint the grey into silver and black. My Racing Walter Rohrl has the 14" silver black ones. These look great.

forget pirellys, get a set of yokohama AVS tyres. much softer, better grip, less noise, cheaper

I think kev wants the pirelli's as this is what was fitted as standard on the car when it left the factory.

Spot on Chris.

Djape - I'm sure you are right about the Yokos but I like the originality of the Pirellis.  :)

Thanks for the comments Paul.
