Nice 1 - I don't think she has replied yet! :D

At a restaurant (the Wife and I) last week with another couple and were discussing what we were going to do when we retire ;). The Male of the other couple is appraoching retirement at 60 (I am someway off at 38).

However in spite of the fact that I have some years to go I stated that playing with cars (especily 131's) was high up on my list of things to do, whilst he mentioned buying a boat :).

The wife of our friends stated that he would probably do Consultancy work at which he nodded like an obedinet dog  ???. My wife suggested that I would do the same :).

I said no way it will get in the way of things I have always wanted to do ;D.

Very similar to the enclosed except different ages (the guy in the story sounds young). It appears that women like men to work of the cash variety and anything that upsets their agenda is wrong. ::)

I really and trully believe that this guy has sold his Jeep after a friendly conversation with his ... wife. ;)
That is why he can give this advise so easily because he knows  :D :D :D

Women (read: wives/girl friends) who love cars are scarse. I haven't found one yet  ;) :D :D

i have. she's begging me to start restoring 850sport coupe at least once a week.

...so she will know where you are... :D :D :D

that is one of reasons for sure. i'm certain she's happier to see me coming home covered in oil and dirt than with lipstick on my shirt or drunk

  I have.  Even down to the fluffy towel and   S- - - -  my ears off, my back was to sore. She runs the house sorts the Toad money and only ask's for house work to be fixed when its really necessary. She designed the rear dampers for Toad when I couldn't get my head around all the figures, and will discuss tech at all levels concerning Toads development.     She put me on the track and has supported all my silly ideas for years, Proud Husband, you bet, ya  the one in a million  (Debbie) :-* :-* :-*

There is a down side.........

   Some years ago Deb and I were walking through Tesco's and just for a laugh to see if she was listening at all I siad I was thinking of some new cams for Toad,  (when it was a road car)  As you know cams are all numbers,  so I ran off a set of numbers that would be far to hairy for road use, as it was a race profile.  Without stopping her shopping she said over her shoulder, "Your not having anything that hairy"  Married bliss a,   :-\

you're out of luck.
mine is a lawyer in love with old cars. ideal! sorts out all my paperwork, car papers and defens me in court when i make a traffic violation or two  ;D
downside is that after she smashed her fiat bravo, she jumped right into my 131 and decided it was far more pleasant to drive than her "old" car. i've been driving lada ever since  ::)
