Title: Transmission gear part numbers Post by: Fiatpwr on February 03, 2011, 12:18:41 AM I have a friend who has 2 131 reverse gears. One is tagged 4327424 for 75-78 The other is 4417999 for 79-82

as declared, they're for diferent years, both for 5speed box. after 1978 or 79 fiat started making gearboxes with smaller teeth because they make less noise. parts are not interchangable for obvious reasons. transmission ratios are pretty much the same. never actually bothered to count the teeth on reverse gear but safe bet would be that one with 17teeth would be for older car, although who is to guarantee that gearbox wasn't swapped over the years? |
