Title: 131 coupe 1966?
Post by: mirafiori76 on March 05, 2011, 10:28:47 AM
This is a page taken from a dutch carmagazine, back in 1966. The reporter thought this coupe would be the next model; 131. :D ;) :D ;) ;)

No, 130 came in 1969. But Fiat never used follow-up-numbers. Example:130-132-131...

I have some pictures from coupe prototypes which were called 131 at the time, back in 1978/79. Later it turned out that the models were Lancia Beta coupe and spider cars. Sadly all my documentation is in boxes right now, so i can't make scans of them and post them here. But perhaps anybody else can help?

According to the picture, it does look like a 124 Sport Coupe to me. Not sure what years they were made..

The back looks similar to a 124 AC coupe, 1969.

The 124 AC Coupe was launched in 1967 with the 124 Spider being launched earlier, in 1966. (Strange but true! ;D)

And that car was the one the reporter saw. In the article he states that the car in the pictures is complete with all parts attached. Not a prototype or something. Why he called it 131 is unknown. And it took another 8 years before the real 131 was launched  ;)
