Title: Fiat 131 Racing with Weber 44
Post by: rosi on March 05, 2011, 06:16:05 PM
Hello all,

i have a Fiat 131 Racing with 44 IDF Weber Carurators. The car has start problems on cold states.

I see that the choke mechanism are not applicated.

My Question: Originary has the 131 Racing a Choke starter or not?
Do you recomendet to applicate the choke mechanism?

Thx for your answers

Rosi

Hi Rosi,

Original carburettor has a water temperature controlled choke valve. Twin carbs don't. What you need are the controlls that are fitted on the side of the carbs (engine side). These make sure that air leaves the system and more fuel is added. The extra fuel is needed for cold starts.
By looking at the picture i see the system is fitted. You just need to fix a cable which you can control from the inside. A choke cable as to say  :)

Rosi,

Just look at Enzo's pictures. All you probably have to do is fix a chokecable. Or hit the accelerator a few times while starting the engine.
I remember starting my Stradale. I needed to hit the trottle heavy while starting because i didn't have the cable fixed.
