Title: Classic Fiat Event - Dates and venue Post by: kev131 on June 06, 2011, 07:45:45 PM Details are now available on the annual Classic car Fiat weekend.
Dates: Friday 23rd Sept finishing on Sunday 25th Sept 2011. Hotel: Connemara Coast Hotel 4 Star Contact: 091 592108 - Mary Lydon & mention the classic Fiat weekend. http://connemaracoast.ie/ The location is the same as last year mainly because most people commented on how well the hotel looked after us plus the facilities (bar, restaurant, spa, pool, reserved parking, Galway Bay views, etc) were great value. The very same deal is available as last time so no inflation. This means ?69 per person sharing per night and includes dinner bed & breakfast. The first four singles to book will not be charged a supplement ? After the first 4, the rate is ?89 per night so it?s better value to bring company of either gender...or book early. ;) The Saturday drive will be in the opposite direction to 2010 and will take us into North Clare and down the west coast. As a destination I?m going to suggest the recently restored walled gardens at the historic Vandeleur Estate in Kilrush. http://www.gardenlovers.ie/vandeleur_walled_garden.garden.6629.html The site offers tea rooms, views of the Shannon estuary, the gardens themselves, forest walks and should appeal to most people. It is about 1hr 45 mins drive from Galway. However the drive itself is along the often spectacular Clare coastline taking in the Burren, Black head, The cliffs of Moher, Lahinch and more. And what do we have classic Fiats for if not to drive them?! Title: Re: Classic Fiat Event - Dates and venue Post by: kev131 on June 06, 2011, 07:52:04 PM Some pictures from last year.....

I also must compliment you on your reconnaissance of yet another driving route this year. I.m sure it will provide nice driving and beautiful scenery, as usual. All we need now is the weather. Hotel booked and looking forward to another great weekend and renewing old acquaintances as well as making new ones. See you all there!!!!!!! Roll on september. Title: Re: Classic Fiat Event - Dates and venue Post by: kev131 on September 20, 2011, 04:43:26 PM Hi Sean - The suggested itinerary that I've put together says 10.30 - Can't leave it too late as it's not a short spin to Kilrush. You'll be doing a lot of driving that day - I hope you can stay the Saturday night.... :)
Title: Re: Classic Fiat Event - Dates and venue Post by: kev131 on September 21, 2011, 04:03:39 PM Some housekeeping updates...
Friday Night Group Dinner is scheduled for 8.30pm to allow attendees time to get to the hotel. Saturday Night Group Dinner is scheduled for 7.45pm. For the Walled gardens on Saturday a group rate of ?2.50 per person has been arranged along with concessionary rates for refreshments & snacks. Apparently these is a wedding on the Saturday night so there should be a buzz around the hotel. :) Title: Re: Classic Fiat Event - Dates and venue Post by: kev131 on October 02, 2011, 04:42:13 PM Apologies for the delay in putting up some pics and details but I've been busy last week.
This was our fourth event held for classic Fiats and their owners ... while not the best turnout ever in terms of numbers, the general feedback is to hold it again next year at the same venue, possibly with an extra night (someone suggested an entire week!) and a shorter drive with lunch on the Saturday. All easily accomadated suggestions (except maybe the week long one!! ;)) The rain made itself known at night time but thankfully the days were generally dry. Thanks to everyone who supported the event and please keep spreading the word - There are a lot of keen Fiat owners out there who would just love the opportunity to show them off at events such as this. Some plans were also drawn up for giving Fiat owners more events to attend next year so when these are firmed up, details will be published. :) Title: Re: Classic Fiat Event - Dates and venue Post by: kev131 on October 02, 2011, 04:47:40 PM (http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx305/kev132/P1140800.jpg)
