Title: 131 Plenum cover
Post by: F131 on December 13, 2011, 09:27:44 AM
Do you guys fit "plenum cover" on your Twin Cam engines? I am talking about covering the area between cam covers. I did on a few engines and people were asking if the engine is a 16V because it looks so compact.

Well, so much for the plenum cover idea. Looks like that nobody is using it. :( Here is a picture anyway.(http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/uploads/1586/img040_R.jpg)

Certainly looks tidy, how are you securing the plate in place?

On this engine a tiny bead of silicone held it in place, (never moved or loosened from vibration) on the other engine (see picture) on the red Mirafiori)  two chromed metal straps were screwed in existing holes on the valve cover. Removed in a few seconds for the service of spark plugs, changes the appearance of the engine.

Oh, one more thing. Abarth valve covers were not available at the time, so those on the picture were made up from OE Fiat lids.
