Post by: mirafioriman on July 06, 2012, 09:49:52 PM
Same seller who sold the LHD super recently. RHD UK car but requires restoration.

Not the same seller Dave. It's a different eBay seller ID.

I'd guess it's the chap who bought the three 131s as a job lot some time ago. I met him just before 3MA and he indicated that one would come up for sale. :)

Now sold.

It's interesting to look at the declined offers. Several around the ?2000 to ?2500 mark. I wonder who thought they would get it for ?250 though ::)

I guess it depends on condition and how much you want a sport. The car although requiring restoration, was quite low mileage, and looked quite original. It was also an original RHD car which are comparitively rare.

I hope it is seen again and we can see it restored and brought back to life, however, many 131 owners/restorers seem to be keeping their cars hidden at the moment.....

Firstly not that I should have to justify myself but I built the car for enjoyment not to "make a fast buck".

Having restored so many standard cars I thought it would be a challenge to do something different. I really enjoyed bu
ilding it and am very pleased with the result.  The reason behind the sale was to make room for my next projects (which are a Lancia O37 and a Audi S4 Quattro), because all my cars are kept garaged away from the elements. But now that my new garage is near completion I can keep her  ;D

As for being an enthusiast I have 5 "Standard" 131's, 4 of which are taxed and MOt'ed, driven on a regular basis, and are all in A1 condition. Can you say the same?
