Post by: Thotos on August 27, 2012, 12:44:52 PM An oil cooler kit is very useful at keeping the oil cool so it maintains its viscosity. It's a 'must' for an engine that is used very hard for example in racing or towing etc. But while it will help at keeping an engine cooler in a very hot climate, its effect will be very little in a 42 degree traffic jam in Cairo. I think you'd be better off spending your money on a new three-core radiator and possibly a larger Kenlow fan. Also make sure your water thermostat opens and closes at the correct temperature and your fan switch on the radiator works correctly; if in doubt replace it when replacing the radiator.

Post by: mirafioriman on August 30, 2012, 10:02:46 AM I'm not sure on the Fiat twin cam but on some engines removing the thermostat can cause overheating problems. Removing it doesn't always increase the cooling effect.
Title: Re: engine oil cooler kit any info. Post by: TOAD on August 30, 2012, 10:20:09 AM How about using an electric water pump like the link below, that way the pump can turn as fast as it needs to even when the car is in traffic. ;) expensive but should do the trick.
