There's a chain of restaurants in North Carolina, USA, called 131 Main and they've been named so after the metallic blue Fiat 131 that the owner of the restaurants used to own  ;) Hopefully the restaurant owning 131 enthusiast will join us here soon and tell us all about it but in the meantime check out the website at www.131-main.com (http://www.131-main.com). Wouldn't it be great to have a 131 meeting in one of the restaurants and fill the car park with 131s  ;D I don't think we have any members in North Carolina and our Idaho members are nearly 4000KM away  :o  ;D

I'm always up for a good excuse for a drive.... but 4000km my be a bit far for a good meal.  You never know,  I once did a 4300 mile trip in my Brava,  11 states and 100 mile per hour most of the way.  I was a bit younger and more adventuresom then.  Mike Stinson  (p.s. although I did just do a 2000 mile drive to Los Angeles for a show last month)

Where did you find the history of the name Theo...? I didn't see it on the website. If it's true it's a great story.  :)

That 124 is the same colour as my Dad's from 1973. Can you tell if it's a Special T and not just a Special from the picture?

From the horse's mouth!  ;D I had an email from the owner of the restaurants. I think/hope he'll be joining us here and tell us all about it.


A bit of deductive guesswork  ;D If it wasn't for the big bumper, we'd be able to see the extra air slots below the main grill which were on the Special T and not the Special. But with the slots not being visible, I assumed that as this is a US specification car, as shown by the side repeater lights, it would be a twin-cam Special T and not an OHV Special.

With the strange bumpers on it the extra air slots under the grill at the front can clearly be seen so Special T it is!  ;) ;D

I beg to differ - slightly anyway ;D - the car pictured is infact a "124 Special TC" and not simply a "124 Special T" - it's a California spec 124 so also has air injection - mmmmmm, lovely.  ;D

But I think you'll find it no longer has air injection as it seems it's one of the first things to have been removed by the owner  ;D

Me2!!! One Christmas there were four of them parked at my Grandmothers house. My dads and 3 of his brothers.

Not TCs but lovely cars nonetheless. Then Dad got his Special T and he became a street racer overnight. ;D

For quite some time I fancied the thought of importing a Tofas Murat, the Turkish 124 clone, and convert it to a TC powered rally car. Due to a lack of garage facilities this plan seems to be cancelled  :(
