What will the coming year bring for 131 fans?

For me the top event will obviously be 3MA13 and there are fewer than 5 months to go now. I'm sure Robert will be organising everything with exact detail. I can't wait.  :)

I'll hopefully have my Supermirafiori ready for the road although there are still some major tasks to be undertaken.

We're also in touch with Michele in Italy and hoping to hear about plans for the 40th year celebration planned for Turin.

There are also plans for a 40th anniversary road trip in Ireland in 2014... details of which will surface next year.

There are dozens of projects being started or being finished...or just being dreamt about...but the main thing is that interest in our favourite oldtimer seems to be at all time high. Maybe we can show that enthusiasm with a thread of photos....

happy new year to all have a gr8 2013!!!

here is my photo!!! the car has moved up and down the driveway but im waiting on brake parts from Italy and the US. my plan is to get it licensed then twin 44's exhaust, and have some fun in some local classic rallies.

the interior has been removed so a can fix the floors, i would have liked to have done more but its been over 40deg for the last week!!!!! :o

Here's my 2013 photo.....I still have some jobs to do on this car like the head lining and tidying up the engine compartment - Might get around to them this year... :)

Hopefully she will look alot better this time next year ... I too still have some jobs to do like , scuttle panel , side sills , interior,  head lining, brake upgrade, glass, engine,
wheels, wiring , shocks, install power steering, lining new panels , rubbing down, painting.. so one or two things  :D

But this series 3 is not my car. It belongs to my friend and mechanic Norbert. You may remember him as he attended 3ma12 with his lovely 128  :)

As long as we are busy with my new toy ( ;D 3ma13-surprise-car ;D), his car is storaged at my place  ;)
But i am quite sure we will change the cars in the next few weeks... :) :o :)

Steve,  In response to your question... The car is a 2 litre carburetor engine.  It does have a 34adfa weber and non emission control intake manifold,  and headers other than that its stock US spec car.  I bought it new in 1979 and enjoy the car very much. Mike Stinson

We have a newly acquired 131 in the Sev house of which I will post up details and pics this week all being well.

Got the camera out and charged the battery. Then got the car out of the garage...... but got the wrong car out  ;D (it was still dark  :-[ at 7:00am when I got up for my trip to Brooklands....   ;D )

Sorry, still wrong car but at least it's a Fiat this time  ;D My transport today while my local Alfa Romeo independent specialist changed the front ARB drop links on the 156. It's the first non-service item cost for the Alfa in over 5 years of ownership  :o

For 2013 this is where I need to be spending my time.

On the 18th June hopefully this car will be departing for the 3rd Annual PUT FOOT RALLY. Its a social rally that leaves from Cape Town in South Africa. We then will be travelling 8000km over 18 days going through Namibia, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique. The aim of the rally is to help raise funds for school shoes for under privilaged kids. It is also the aim of the organisers to prove that any vehicle can tour through Africa and that a 4 x 4 is not always required. 

We have plenty work ahead of us and hopefully we will be able to complete the project in time.

Our biggest problem is finding spares. Not much is available in South Africa. The car needs a 2,0L motor but all i can find is 1600 OHV motors. I found a 1600 Twincam motor from a 125 but is not in good nick at all. There are Lancia's in the country but also very scarce. There might be some light at the end of the tunnel for a motor but will only know by end of next week. I'm also looking for the part that holds the passenger doors small triangular window in place and the drivers side black trim on the B-Pillar that covers the hindges for the rear windows. So if anyone has these parts and prepared to sell to me with shipping to South Africa please email me at mengels1@telkomsa.net

Are your guard made from steel or f/glass?

Hi Fizmo.

The front is fiberglass riverted onto the steel fender. The rear is fiberglass but the rear wing was not removed in the normal way. The previous owner cut the fiberglass wing and also rivited it onto the rear wing after cutting the steel wing off about 30mm around the whole panel.
